A kaleidoscope of glistening temples, incredible beaches, energetic cities and tranquil villages, Thailand is enthralling and seductive and will captivate you for years after your first visit.
Spend a couple of days enjoying the excitement of Bangkok as you complete the legal paperwork, then travel to your hotel to relax and prepare for your wedding celebration.
You can choose an extraordinary Buddhist-style ceremony involving chanting monks, blessings and the lighting of candles, or a western ceremony where you can exchange vows and rings in a stunning setting. Most ceremonies take place in the grounds of your hotel, in the gardens or on the beach.
|Legal Requirements for Thailand|
Extra legal information: Couples legally marrying in Thailand are required to stay 7 days in Bangkok prior to their beach ceremony to sign an affidavit and register at the British Embassy Registrar’s Office. Cost per couple approximately from £1078. A further 7 nights is then required at a beach resort to conduct the ceremony and finalise the legal paperwork. Wedding registrations in Bangkok are not conducted during the Songkran Festival (13-15 April), over Christmas and New Year and public holidays as both the British Embassy and Registrar Offices will be closed. Couples will receive their wedding certificate approximately four to six months after the wedding. If the bride has been divorced for less than ten months a pregnancy test is required once in resort for which there is a local charge. If pregnant the wedding cannot take place.
This information applies only to couples born in the UK with a valid UK passport.
