Fly into sunny Perth and out of cosmopolitan Sydney, with the freedom to design your own route in between. Australia has a great domestic flight network, so you could fly to Melbourne and take in the sights of the historic Queen Victoria Market, hit the shops on Little Collins Street, take time out in the Royal Botanic Gardens, and visit the Sports Precinct to view the MCG, Olympic Park and Melbourne Park. It’s also easy to fly into the heart of the Red Centre and see Australia’s most iconic landmark, Uluru, which is mesmerising at sunrise and sunset; or to Cairns – gateway to the lush Wet Tropics rainforest and the breathtaking Great Barrier Reef.
Hire a car or motorhome and drive across New Zealand’s north and south islands. Go whale watching in Kaikoura, explore the beautiful wilderness of Abel Tasman National Park, sip Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough and cruise the waters of Milford Sound. Then cross the Cook Strait to discover Wellington’s café culture, take on the epic Tongariro Crossing and explore the misty rainforests and golden beaches of the Coromandel Peninsula.
Chile, Argentina & Brazil
Fly to Chile’s leafy capital, Santiago de Chile, to discover an energetic city with a spectacular mountain backdrop. Wander the city centre and visit museums, monuments and churches, and take in the far-reaching views from the summit of Cerro San Cristobal. Head on to Buenos Aires – a fascinating city of contrasts, from the modern docks of Puerto Madero to the historic quarters of San Telmo, and try out iconic activities like tango lessons and experiencing life on a ranch. Make the Cidade Maravilhosa (‘Marvellous City’) of Rio de Janeiro your final stop for spectacular sightseeing including the Corcovado and Sugar Loaf Mountain, sun-kissed beaches, fabulous entertainment and outstanding natural beauty.
