Well deserved 5* resort
We spent a week here with my wife and grown-up daughters. We like the 4sns brand as their hotels and resorts always offer outstanding quality and, in this case particularly, a truly warm dedicated service for their customers, approaching you regularly with a smile and also respecting your privacy. Even the general manager Mr Linley came and introduced himself. Housekeeping was incredibly kind with us and even arranged a three hours private boat trip, that I strongly advise to do. We basically did everything and tried all restaurants and always the relevant manager came and had a polite and friendly chat with us. We advise travelers to try the following: every day take the complimentary 10 minutes boat to isle aux cerfs that it’s woooonderful. 4Sns has a private beach there with all services. Among restaurant the French one is outstanding. We also had a fish buffet at the bambou restaurant which was excellent in term of variety and quality. The Italian restaurant deserves five stars for the nice and warm approach of its manager, rather than the food that is not truly Italian (just maybe avoid pasta, rest is ok). So, basically, probably this resort deserves a sixt star vis a vis the usual 5* 4Sns excellent standard. We will surely return
For 3000 EUR night you would expect better service than being constantly told that you have to plan dinners 24 h before, that people are busy due to high season - that golf pro is sick without substitutes when you are booking a golf holiday! Etc, etc. no personalized service - we have had much better service/food/entertainment in 300 EUR/night hotels!! Really dissappointing!
One of the best Four Seasons we have ever been
We have visited over 15 Four Seasons in the past 10 years and I can say the Anahita in Mauritius is one of the best! We spend 10 days in February with our 3 years old daughter and we loved it. -The service was an incredible 10: starting with an upgrade in a 280 sqm villa full of different presents every day for our daughter and for us, to full breakfast delivered at the beach, gluten free birthday cake for my daughter and ending with the resort manager stopping our car on the way to the airport to deliver a final farewell present. -breakfast is a 9: in a very nice location with a big section of gluten free food and a good varieties, the only thing I would improve is to have a bit more “small bite” options that change every day like I have experienced at the Four Seasons Bora Bora and Hualalali -the beaches are a 9: a lot of space between chairs and a nice tropical atmosphere, the only downside was the sea not very transparent and more on the green side - I think it was a combination of the time of the year and the fact that it rained for few days - the food was a 8 at the Italian and French with the exception of the Bamboo restaurant at the beach, while I understand it was a cheep option, I didn’t like the traditional dishes that didn’t taste “top quality” and a bit too greasy and a bit too street food. I suggest they look for a more “refined” local chef. -other services and location are a 10: there is a lots of included activities like waterskiing and snorkelling trips that makes you feel well looked after. I do recommend the trip to a nearby beach with incredible blue water. At the site they also had an amazing tailor that custom made and shipped great shirts for my husband. The villas are well distant from each other with efficient buggy services, the only issues was the mosquitoes that really spoiled the use of our beautiful garden and pool. There still a few Four Seasons resorts we want to try first but this is one of those we will definitely come back to.
Exceptional service and surroundings
The perfect paradise retreat, we can't recommend it enough. The staff can't do enough for you and it has a wonderful balance so you don't feel like you come across too many other hotel guests, even when it's full.
This was our 5th visit to Mauritius and our first time at the Four Seasons. We were greeted warmly on arrival and taken to a relaxed area overlooking the lagoon to check in. We arrived at 11.30am and did have a wait until 3 (standard check in) to get into our room - I was a little disappointed as the resort was not super busy and I had requested an earlier check in if possible du etc the 24 hour journey. We took time to explore the resort, have a drink overlooking the beach and used the fitness centre for a freshen up. There are so many wonderful things to say about the resort. The staff are very welcoming, attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The ground are so well maintained and simply beautiful to walk around. Our villa exceeded all expectations, overlooking gardens with birds and flowers all round us, a fabulous plunge pool (useful when coming back very hot from golf), an outdoor and indoor shower (i miss that outdoor shower) well stocked water supplies thought day and night, fresh crisp linen - just fabulous. We ate in all three restaurants, breakfast in the Beauchamp was leisurely and offered so much choice, the fresh juice bar and imaginative combinations was a bit hit as was the Boulangerie a haven of breads, pastries and goodies. We enjoyed the themed dining nights down at Bambou and the A la carte at there offered exceptional indian cuisine and a lovely setting overlooking the beach. We played golf at Anahita - would recommend booking ahead before you go if you want an earlier tee time and expect to play in a four ball. We didn't make the journey across to play Iles au Cerf this time as this incurred a considerable surcharge to go across and we had played there previously when staying at the Tousserok for free. Fitness centre - this really was a highlight for us. We are early birds so the fact the well equipped centre opened from 6.30am was great for us,.The 25 meter lap pool is naturally warm, fresh/salt water with minimal chemicals and surrounded by amazing flowers and plants - it was a wonder to swim in there every morning. From the Ground maintenance staff, beach crew, waiters, managers and directors everyone was friendly and enthusiastic. 2 small things that could improve the experience for me personally next time- the daily shuttle to the private island doesn't start early enough for me I would have liked to go across before 11.30 and spend the day. Yoga- group classes have been offered free of charge at the other resorts I have visited. A fantastic resort, first class and we will return,
