A breath taking holiday experience
I want to start by saying that our stay at Four Seasons Resort at Anahita has been our best hotel experience up to date. We were usually picking Raffles for our holidays, but since there was none on Mauritius, we’ve decided to give Four Seasons a go. And what an excellent choice it was! The resort is located on the eastern part of the island, which is comparably quieter and more nature-oriented than the developed west coast. Even if some of Mauritius’ landscapes may seem barren from agricultural overexploitation, the resort is shielded from the outside world, carving out a piece of pure paradise in serene isolation. The resort grounds welcome you with a view of skillfully designed architecture blended seamlessly with lush gardens and tropical vegetation. The lobby overlooks the bay and pleases the eye with terraces of water falling into the cove. We were pleasantly surprised with the check-in, as it went smoother than expected. Not only we were able to inhabit our villa ahead of schedule, but also we’ve been given an upgrade to an ocean view villa that provided us with a panorama of the Indian Ocean with some dramatic sunrises. Being polite and well-mannered is especially valued at Four Seasons, and we had quite some occasions to find that out. The resort has been planned to provide you with attractions and activities throughout all of your stay. During our week-long holidays, we’ve parted the resort grounds for one day. Even in the light of the stunning landscapes of Mauritius, we were much relieved to return to our safe house on the coast. Don’t get me wrong, as we are both adventurous people, but the driving experience on the island can be tiring, especially after sundown and on the western part of the isle. After a journey like that, one can wonder, is authentic Mauritius on the island, or has it been shielded away behind Four Seasons' gate. As for local activities, there is a broad range of complimentary services. Each day we’ve enjoyed riding bikes across the vast terrain of Four Seasons, swimming in the pool at the fitness center, and relaxing at the sauna. At the beach, you can rent a kayak, a Hobie cat sailing boat, a paddleboard, or a variety of other watersport equipment. Only premium activities, such as parasailing or waterski, are paid, but with the fun they deliver, it’s worth to try them out. The beach is shaded from the ocean by Ile aux Cerfs, which stops most of the wind and provides perfect conditions for water activities. The water in the lagoon was warm, crystal clear, and shallow in most of the places. You can also take a motorboat to the island, which will provide you with access to a virgin beach and an unobstructed view on the ocean. When you get hungry after all those activities, prepare for a real feast. The resort offers you a choice between French Beau Champ, Italian Acquapazza, and Asian Bambou restaurants. All of them serve food of premium quality, and their distinctive character is sure to keep your palate pleased for the whole stay. The breakfasts offer more ingredients that one could try on a single visit and span over virtually all approaches to having breakfast - from sausages, through smoothies, all the way to regular lunch dishes from the menu. We were delighted each time we had to eat at Four Seasons, and every day has been filled with the excitement of waiting for another delicious meal. What is essential is the utmost care the resort and the staff take to serve only the food aligned to your liking and any possible allergies. We've mentioned some intolerances in advance before our arrival. From day one, everyone had a perfect recollection of all the dishes we should avoid, politely disadvising any food that could contain lactose, gluten, or particular types of nuts. If you would arrive without passing that detail to the staff, you'll quickly find diversified food propositions that will fit into your expectations - even if you happen to combine gluten intolerance with lactose allergy, seafood allergy, and a preference for vegetarian food. In the end, if you're a list of intolerances spans outside that list, I'm quite convinced that the staff would craft something outside the regular menu to meet your needs and expectations. Out of all the restaurants available, Bambou, the Asian restaurant, has won our hearts by a long mile. The chef is a master in composing spices, taking you on a genuine culinary adventure through all the corners of the continent. We have had the chance to try the local buffet twice during our stay - the array of food to choose from was overwhelming, with each dish competing to be the most delicious one. A warm thank you to all of the staff at Bambou, as due to them, we have an exceptional experience each time we’ve been there. It was amazing to arrive for another dinner only to discover that the manager and chef have prepared us yet another surprise. Speaking of the staff - even though we’ve felt like royals while dining at Bambou, all of the resorts' personnel are highly trained, helpful, and cheerfully polite. It becomes so easy to feel comfortable around them that soon you’ll behave like among friends. Especially after a moment, almost everyone will know you by name! If you’re even in need, there is always a solution, and the staff will go beyond expectations to deliver. There was not a single request that was denied, and sometimes even we were helped before voicing out our concerns. The personnel at Four Seasons will make your holiday stay as seamless as possible, making it hard to find a staff that could contest that level of service. It's also important to mention that the room service will always time their arrival to clean your villa while you're out dining. You'll always find your place squeaky clean and prepared for the night, without anyone bothering while you enjoy your space. It's such a relief to be welcomed with a warm and dosed off ambiance after a substantial dinner, that will put you comfortably to sleep to the rhythm of the waves splashing against the shore. As a side note, the resort offers emergency health services, which becomes crucial if an accident is to happen. We had the misfortune of one happening last year at another resort, and the lack of medical staff at the spot has complicated the whole process of subsequent rehabilitation. Luckily no accidents this year, though we were reassured to have a solution in case of an emergency. As for the shortcomings of the resort - we’ve read a lot of reviews before coming, and we can testify that most of those people seem to be unhappy with life. Cold water in the plunge pool? It doesn’t dip below 22 celsius, and its principle is to be fresh to start the day like a champ. Is buggy service being slow? Our villa was at the end of Ile de Chats - a good 15-minute walk to the lobby. No wonder that it might take up to 10 minutes to scramble a buggy and drive it there. I’d say that out of all the things in the resort; bikes fall below expectations. They don’t look too shabby, but mechanically they are mediocre, with shifts blocked in seemingly random positions. Bikes can respond with dramatic differences in handling - be mindful of that. Apart from this shortcoming, they are usable, and it’s pleasant to bike around just for fun or to burn some calories after eating double the volume of food during breakfast. Everyone at the place contributed to the unstained conduct of our stay at Four Seasons, though some people helped it turn into a real dream. To honor their efforts, we’ve listed them below: Prakash - the most attentive and guest-oriented manager that we have met. A person that has single-handily added the most value to our stay, always having a pleasant surprise waiting for us. Whether it was a romantic five-course dinner in a calm part of the restaurant, most exquisite cocktails, or a splendid wedding anniversary cake. Words cannot only do justice how much Prakash puts the guests' well-being as his top priority. A true embodiment of a model manager from the hotel industry. Sooriadeo - the chef of Bambou restaurant. A true explorer of Asian tastes, with the ability to fuse them seamlessly according to the expectations of the most refined and picky palates. A mind-reader that is always one step ahead of you, knowing what you’d like to eat before it comes to your mind. Whatever you'll say to the waiters will surely reach his ears, and the next time you'll be dining at Bambou, you might be served the delicacy you've barely mentioned a day before. In case you're amazed by a particular dish, don't be a stranger and ask for the recipe - he'll gladly provide with one. Robinsen - as much Prakash is watching over top-notch service at Bambou, Robinsen is providing the same at Beau Champ - the French restaurant. Seeing him every day at breakfast helps you to start your day gloriously, and all the warm-hearted help coming from him reassures you about the right holiday choice you've made. Abhay - the most cheerful waiter around that has been most helpful at arranging things at the resort, as well as providing us with info on top spots on the island. Avinash - the person that has introduced us to the resort, explained to us everything in detail and presented with a magnificent upgrade of the villa, which has put a cherry on top of our holiday cake. Kavita and Anu - both of them working at Bambou. Their kind hearts and gestures of goodwill are going to stay in our memory forever. Their gift is already decorating our baby's bedroom <3 Beej and Jeremy - part of the staff at Bambou that have helped us to have that extra splice of luxury during our favorite breakfasts. Amal, Avishek, and Vilasha - the energizing staff of the fitness center that has kept us in shape after all those delicious meals we have consumed during our holidays. Vikram - a big thanks for the perfect service at the beach and all the effort to correctly pronounce our names. Vianney - for a comfortable and easily enjoyable buggy ride each time we needed one. The list could go on indefinitely, as there is simply nobody on the staff who was underperforming, making Four Seasons service unbeatable in quality. When leaving, we had a sense of nostalgia that we were leaving a group of friends back there. Fortunately, it has quickly passed, as with such a magnificent stay we’ve had, we’re sure to return to Four Seasons at Anahita for another holiday straight from paradise. No words can describe how complete and satisfying our stay was. There is the truth that if you put the price, you're getting adequate service. I'd still rework that sentence, as in the case of our stay at Four Seasons, we've got much more value from the money we've paid. And this is something that words cannot do justice. So if you're still wondering if Four Seasons is the right choice for your next holidays, take the plunge and experience it for yourself. From the moment you arrive you feel very special, and almost treated like royalty. A fabulous resort in all aspects. From the amazing Villa with a pool and beachfront to the tasty food in all the restaurants to the sincere and genuine smiling service you receive from the staff. I have stayed at many many 5 star hotels around the world but this is absolutely one of the best I have had the pleasure of residing at. Highly recommended.

we were lucky and had a perfekt villa for the needs of two. Unlucky with the weather, it rained a lot. So roomservice had a lot of work, which they managed perfectly. Personaly i did not like the restaurants, only exception Beau Champ, which was good for Breakfast and Dinner. special thanks to Nishi,who allways found a nice table for us.

The villa was amazing, next to the beach, full of little attentions! The dedicated service is exceptional and so lovely…. We had the dinner at the Italian restaurant and lunch at bamboo, it was our best culinary experience. My husband, my 2 kids and me, we will really have a good time at Four Seasons Mauritius.
Amazing place to stay, paceful and tranquil
This is our 2nd time in Ile Maurice and the experience with this hotel was fabulous. From the moment you arrived, you feel special. Being wellcome and accommodated by Clea was a very happy experience. Thank you Clea for being such a wonderful person ! The location is magnific, the acomodation villas are gorgeous and the gardens are wonderful. Is a great hotel with great staff members (our thanks to Laura - mon ami, from Bon Champ...for making our breakfast to be so enjoyable) professional and excellent service to all restaurants ...nothing is too much trouble...all the time they make you feel safe and relax. And the trip on Ile aux cherfs is a must ! And you have to visit the Kashmir Emporium store on property....the goods there are amazing and the indian owner is a very special person...great experience! Highly recomanded this luxury resort for location, staff, services, amenities, atmosphere....for all.
