In the tropical forest of Panna National Park, the majestic bodies of Bengal tigers slip silkily through the scores of towering teak. Once victims of illegal poaching, each beast is an emotional triumph in the fight for their existence. Formerly used as a royal hunting ground, Panna now contains over 60 tigers, their thundering roars resonating over miles. Compared to other parks on the tiger circuit, its humble size and fewer crowds allows you to quietly witness their magnificence. 

Commence at dawn on a 4x4 safari from the heights of the rocky plateaus. Besides big cats you may encounter other exotic species such as long-tailed langur monkeys, shaggy sloth bears and Indian antelope that leap across the grasslands. Venture further and you’ll discover craggy waterfalls the sounds of which during the rainy season echo across several kilometres. During the sunny spells the light glimmers over jade-coloured pools one such marvel located below Pandav Falls enclosed by ancient caves dripping in decades of greenery.
