The Kasbah is part of Marrakech’s walled old city, and it’s a brilliant place to begin a holiday to Marrakech. You’ll start with a guided walk that takes you from palace courtyards and richly decorated buildings to the workshops and shared bakery that make up daily life. A full day in the High Atlas follows, with mountain paths and lunch in a local family’s home. Then stay in Marrakech, but spend your days differently. Your second base has a more resort-style feel, so you can swim, book a spa treatment, or go back into the medina when you fancy another look. It’s a week that gives you both a proper introduction to the city and time to follow your own plans.

Day 1

Marrakech

Arrive in Marrakech and take a private transfer to the Kasbah, your base in the medina for the next three nights. Settle in, then head out for a first look at the old city if you’re ready to explore.

Day 2

Marrakech

Let your guide lead you through the medina’s lanes. See the Koutoubia Mosque, the tilework of Ben Youssef Madrasa, a former Islamic college, and the courtyards of Bahia Palace. Then follow the everyday life around them, from artisan workshops to a communal bakery where neighbours bring their bread to be baked. Lunch is included on the tour, and you’ll also stop for mint tea and pastries in a riad. Jemaa el-Fna, the square known for its storytellers and musicians, marks the end of your tour. If you’d like to carry on into the evening, you can add an additional experience that combines storytelling, dinner, and Sufi music.

Day 3

High Atlas Mountains

Leave Marrakech for a full day in the High Atlas. You’ll walk through a village and alongside terraced fields, orchards, and the channels that bring water to the crops. A local family welcomes you into their home for a traditional lunch before you return to the city.

Day 4

Marrakech

A private transfer takes you to your second base, with a more resort-style feel. You have the rest of the day to swim, book a spa treatment, or do very little at all.

Day 5

Marrakech

For a very different morning, add the optional sunrise balloon experience. Fly over the palm groves and villages outside Marrakech, then have breakfast before visiting Jardin Majorelle, a botanical oasis, and the nearby Yves Saint Laurent and Berber museums. The outing finishes in the new city, where broad boulevards show you a different side of Marrakech.

Days 6-8

Marrakech

These days are yours to fill. Return to the medina to see places you only glimpsed on your guided walk, spend an afternoon at the spa, or settle beside the pool and stay put. On your final day, a private transfer will collect you and take you to the airport for your flight home.
