A resort-style Marrakech base with garden-filled grounds, lively dining, and plenty for families.
This is the five-star option if you want plenty happening at the hotel without disappearing to the outskirts of Marrakech. You arrive through wrought-iron gates and a fountain-lined walkway before the doors open onto a huge copper-toned lobby, where a drop-shaped chandelier hangs above a fountain beneath a dome.
Follow the water channel running from the lobby and the hotel unfolds into gardens, pools, restaurants, and low-rise ochre buildings. You’re still in Hivernage, though, with M Avenue close by and the medina around 10 minutes away by taxi.
Why we love Movenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi Marrakech
-
It feels more like a city resort than a conventional large hotel. Step out of the lobby and you meet the main pool first, followed by a long garden avenue planted with palms, citrus, and olive trees.
-
The public spaces have real personality. White tadelakt walls, pale wood, black-and-white marble, oversized lighting, copper, and intricate mashrabiya screens give the interiors a modern Moroccan look.
-
Five o’clock means chocolate. Mövenpick’s complimentary Chocolate Hour takes over the lobby for 60 minutes every afternoon, with chocolate treats for younger guests at the Kids’ Club too.
-
The location makes sightseeing straightforward. You’re in modern Hivernage rather than inside the medina, with M Avenue close by and Jemaa el-Fna roughly 10 minutes away by taxi, depending on traffic.
Rooms
Rooms are spread through the gardens rather than stacked into one city-hotel tower, and the look is calmer than the dramatic lobby. Expect soft neutral tones, contemporary furniture, and touches of colour rather than lots of ornate Moroccan decoration.
Superior Rooms are the straightforward starting point, with different outlook and outside-space options worth paying attention to. Deluxe Rooms feel more generous, while Prestige Suites add separate living space.
Facilities
Food is spread around the resort rather than centred on one dining room. Breakfast brings Moroccan specialities and international favourites together in a buffet, while later menus move between Moroccan, Spanish, Mediterranean, Levantine, and Asian flavours. The settings change just as much, from olive-shaded terraces and poolside tables to an upper-level lounge and a Moroccan restaurant tucked into the gardens.
Saray
Most mornings start here, with a buffet of Moroccan specialities and international favourites. The dining room takes its cues from a traditional Moroccan tent, while outside, olive trees shade the terrace.
Marcelona
A more sociable evening. Moroccan and Spanish dishes share the menu, contemporary art fills the indoor space, and outside you can eat beneath a mature olive tree with live music in the background.
Dahbi
Follow a water feature and illuminated walkway through the gardens to this Moroccan restaurant beside a rose garden. Local and seasonal ingredients feature on a menu led by Moroccan cooking.
Jamra
Beside the more contemporary pool and close to the yoga studio, this is an easy daytime choice for fresh pasta, salads, fish, and Mediterranean dishes when changing out of pool clothes feels unnecessary.
Nosh
Upstairs rather than at garden level, with views across the pools and towards M Avenue. The menu moves between Levantine mezze and Asian flavours, so it’s useful when you want something lighter or a change from Moroccan food.
Manso Bar
More interesting than the standard hotel lounge. The room has a cabinet-of-curiosities feel, with traditional objects, minerals, fossils, and old astronomical and timekeeping instruments among the displays, plus cocktails and tapas.
MFF
A Parisian-style coffee shop and deli for pastries, sandwiches, cakes, coffee, and things to take away. Handy if you want something quick before heading out for the day.

Ô de Rose sits in one of the quieter parts of the gardens, with crisp black-and-white interiors and flashes of copper. There are seven treatment rooms*, hammam facilities*, a sauna*, outdoor Jacuzzi*, hair and nail salon*, and a separate spa pool nearby. Om Yoga has its own studio and a wide programme of classes*, while the fitness centre has Technogym equipment.
Mövenpick Mansour Eddahbi is Green Globe certified. Its sustainability programme includes phasing out single-use plastics, reusing water for garden irrigation, reducing waste, sourcing locally where possible, and involving children in environmental activities at the Kids’ Club.
The Kids’ Club is for four to 12-year-olds and runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm, then 2.30pm to 5.30pm. That two-hour lunchtime closure is worth knowing before you book a spa treatment or make plans without the children. There are more than 25 supervised activities, including creative workshops such as street art. For younger children, there’s a bookable Baby Club for ages one to four at extra cost, plus babysitting that needs at least 24 hours’ notice. The children’s pool is beside the Jamra area, and the two-bedroom Family Suite is the easiest room set-up for larger families, with a king bedroom, a twin bedroom, a separate living room, and space for up to six. Because the grounds are extensive, tell us if being close to the family facilities matters and we can request a suitable room position.
