An ornate 1880s riad with a hidden plunge pool, courtyard dining, and the medina outside.
Angsana’s Heritage Collection is a group of six historic riads spread through the medina rather than one property behind a single front door. Riad Si Said is where the collection welcomes you, as well as home to its main restaurant. It’s an 1880s family home with just six rooms and suites. Carved cedar, sculpted plaster, jewel-coloured zellige, fireplaces, and high ceilings fill the interiors, while a mosaic plunge pool hides in one of the courtyards. Breakfast and dinner gather around the main patio, and upstairs the rooftop looks across old Marrakech towards the Atlas Mountains.
Why we love Riad Si Said, Angsana Heritage Collection
-
With only six rooms, Si Said feels much closer to staying in a grand Marrakech house than a conventional hotel. Smooth, hand-polished Moroccan tadelakt plaster, carved stucco, zellige, cedar furniture, and jewel-toned fabrics fill the rooms and courtyards.
-
The mosaic plunge pool is hidden away in its own courtyard. When the rooftop gets hot, it gives you somewhere shaded to cool off without leaving the riad.
-
Dinner makes full use of the setting. Tables sit around the courtyard as the light drops, with Moroccan cooking, local ingredients, Moroccan wines, instrumental music, and the fountain in the background.
-
Arrival has its own little ritual. Mint tea and homemade pastries come with a wooden box containing three local fragrances, and you choose which one you’d like used to scent your pillow.
Rooms
Every room looks into the courtyard, keeping that inward-facing connection that gives a traditional riad its character. Inside, the decoration is gloriously rich, with smooth, hand-polished Moroccan tadelakt plaster, carved stucco, zellige, cedar furniture, jewel-toned fabrics, and artwork beneath high ceilings.
Facilities
Meals revolve around the courtyard. Breakfast brings Moroccan pancakes, breads, local honey, fruit, and homemade yoghurt to the table, while lunch and dinner stay rooted in Moroccan flavours, with tagines, couscous, grilled fish, and seasonal dishes alongside some Eastern Mediterranean influences.
There’s another perspective upstairs. Tea and cocktails can be taken on the rooftop, and private dinners can be arranged under the open sky with the medina and Atlas Mountains beyond.
Restaurant Si Said
Moroccan cooking is the focus, with contemporary takes on regional dishes including tagines and couscous. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served here, with the courtyard setting changing character as the day goes on.
Rooftop tea, cocktails & private dining
Head upstairs for traditional tea, cocktails, or a private dinner with views over the medina towards the Atlas Mountains.

Angsana Spa is housed at Riad Bab Firdaus, a short walk through the medina. Treatments bring the brand’s Asian wellness heritage together with Moroccan ritual, delivered by therapists trained through the Banyan Tree Spa Academy.
Across Angsana Heritage Collection, Eat for Good supports nearby growers and artisans by buying seasonal produce and legumes directly from them. Stay for Good extends that connection into the High Atlas, where the collection supports education and water-resilience projects in Sidi Fares.
There’s no kids’ club or full-sized swimming pool, so Si Said suits families planning to spend their days out exploring Marrakech together. The plunge pool gives you somewhere to cool down when you return, while extra beds and cots can be requested in suitable suites. Babysitting is available with advance notice.
