Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial & Spa

Pool days, medina nights

A Hivernage city resort with palm-filled gardens and Jemaa el-Fna an easy walk away.

Here, a pool morning and a medina afternoon can belong to the same day. Sofitel Marrakech spreads through palm and bougainvillaea-filled gardens in Hivernage, with outdoor pools, a spa, and enough places to eat and drink to make staying put tempting.

The rooms split between two looks: Contemporary categories are cleaner and more modern, while others bring in more traditional Moroccan arches, tilework, and colour. Come evening, L’Orangerie pairs Moroccan-French cooking with live music, while So Lounge takes things later with Thai food, Gnaoua performances, dance shows, and DJs until 4am.

Why we love Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial & Spa

  • You can walk to Jemaa el-Fna in around 15 minutes, then come back to gardens and pools. It’s a fantastic way to combine Marrakech sightseeing with slower days by the water.

  • Pool choice is a real plus here. One outdoor pool is heated seasonally, children have their own pool, and the spa adds an adults-only heated indoor pool, available with paid spa access.

  • Evenings have plenty of life. L’Orangerie pairs Moroccan-French cooking with a live band and at So Lounge, Thai dinner gives way to Gnaoua, dance shows, and live music before DJs take over until 4am.

  • The daily Kids Club is for 4 to 12-year-olds, with indoor and outdoor play, cooking workshops, crafts, cultural activities, and a children’s pool. Connecting rooms and suites with separate living space make the sleeping arrangements easier too.

French technique and Moroccan flavour run through the menus, with Mediterranean lunches by the pool and Thai cooking after dark. Breakfast adds a little Sofitel theatre: alongside the international spread, La Haute Croissanterie gives the classic French croissant Moroccan touches. Later, meals can stay relaxed outdoors or turn into a full evening of live music, cocktails, and shows.

Le Jardin
Breakfast unfolds on a garden-facing terrace, with fruit, cooked dishes, and freshly baked pastries alongside the international buffet. La Haute Croissanterie runs every morning, giving the classic French croissant Moroccan flavours and local touches.

L’Oasis
Mediterranean lunches beside the pool, with seasonal produce, grilled meats, salads, and lighter daytime dishes.

L’Orangerie
Moroccan ingredients meet French cooking, with seasonal local produce and an Atlas-facing terrace. Dinner is accompanied by live music.

So Lounge
Dinner is only the beginning here. Asian cooking and cocktails lead into live bands, Gnaoua performances, dance shows, and DJ sets, with the nightclub continuing until 4am.

Palais Darkum
Tea, cocktails, tapas, and Moroccan pastries on a shaded terrace or out among the bougainvillea.

Le Palmier
A relaxed poolside bar for light bites and cocktails from lunchtime into early evening.

Sofitel Spa brings Moroccan bathing rituals and French skincare together, with a hammam and sauna alongside massages and beauty treatments. There’s also an adults-only heated indoor pool, with spa access charged separately. The fitness centre has Technogym cardio and strength equipment, Pilates mats, and coaching available.

Sofitel Marrakech is Green Key certified. Water-saving fittings are installed in every room, low-energy LED lighting is used across the hotel, most single-use plastics have been removed, and waste is sorted into dedicated streams.

The Kids Club is for 4 to 12-year-olds and opens daily, with indoor and outdoor play, arts and crafts, cooking workshops, and cultural activities. There’s a dedicated children’s pool, special children’s menus, and babysitting can be arranged for an extra charge. Rooms can take a cot for younger children, while selected suites add sofa beds and separate living areas. Connecting rooms give families another option when older children want their own space and an extra bathroom is a must.
