A richly decorated medina retreat with rooftop views and Marrakech just outside the door
Riad La Clé d’Or gives you the look and feel of a traditional Marrakech riad, but with more facilities than you might expect. Its 34 rooms and suites unfold around four patios, with carved wooden doors, hand-worked plaster, zellige, domed ceilings, and plenty of rich colour. You’re in the Kasbah, close to the Saadian Tombs and within walking distance of Jemaa el-Fna, while upstairs there’s a rooftop pool, sun terrace, and views across the medina towards the Atlas Mountains. It’s a good choice if you want to stay inside old Marrakech without giving up a spa, restaurant, or somewhere to cool off.

The rooftop gives you a completely different view of Marrakech. Atlas Sky sits above the medina with a pool, sun loungers, and Jacuzzis, with views stretching across the rooftops towards the Agdal Gardens and Atlas Mountains. Come back up when the heat of the day starts to fade.

You’re exceptionally well placed for exploring on foot. Bab Agnaou and the Saadian Tombs are around two minutes away, El Badi Palace around seven minutes, and Jemaa el-Fna around 15 to 20 minutes.

Four patios give the riad more scale without losing the traditional courtyard layout. Fountains, carved plaster, colourful textiles, tiled floors, and individually decorated rooms keep each part feeling distinct.

There’s enough here to make coming back between sightseeing stops worthwhile. Swim on the roof, book a hammam or massage, then stay in for Moroccan food rather than immediately heading back into the medina.
Facilities
Food stays rooted in Morocco, with traditional dishes and local ingredients downstairs, while the rooftop moves into slightly more Mediterranean territory. Breakfast is brought to the table rather than laid out as a large buffet, with Moroccan breads and pastries among the morning spread. Later in the day, you can eat within the patios or head upstairs for lunch, dinner, and drinks with the rooftops and Atlas Mountains in view.
Lobby Bar Gastronomic Restaurant
Moroccan dishes made with local ingredients in the more traditional setting of the riad. A good option when you want dinner without heading back out into the medina.
Atlas Sky Mediterranean Rooftop Restaurant
Lunch, dinner, and drinks are served on the rooftop, with the medina below and Atlas Mountains in the distance. There’s a pool and sun terrace here too.

The on-site spa is compact but covers the things you'll actually want after a day walking the medina. There's a traditional hammam, massage room and separate space for manicures and pedicures, while the rooftop has two heated Jacuzzis. If this is your first trip to Morocco, having a hammam within the riad makes it particularly easy to try the ritual without planning another journey across the city.
While there is no dedicated kids' club, the four patio courtyards and rooftop plunge pool provide a welcoming setting for families.
