Oasis in the Serengeti
The rooms and lodge are the most modern we’ve experienced. Each room has a personal plunge pool. You can hang out on your deck and watch wildlife pass by. It was super luxurious. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is in unbelievable. There is a lioness and her cubs that make this location their home. We saw them whole we were eating lunch.
Perfection in Central Serengeti
We thoroughly enjoyed our few nights at Lemala Nanyukie. It is set in a remote but stunning section of the Central Serengeti with a resident lioness (don't be scared because you will have a Masai Warrior accompany you to your room!). Rebecca and Andrea are amazing general managers and have put together a wonderful staff that literally thinks of every little detail that makes your stay that much more special. The suites are technically "tented" but feel more like a 5 star penthouse with an amazing Serengeti backdrop. The food was very good as well. When we look back on our trip, we definitely wish we could have fit in more days at Nanyukie because it truly is a special place!
We stayed at Lemala Nanyukie for 3 nights to complete our Tanzanian safari, and what a way to finish! This camp is in a stunning setting and really well laid out. The tents are very very comfortable, with incredible views and sounds from the terraces. The plunge pool is a nice touch, but was a bit cold during our stay to make best use of it. Lying in bed listening to Lions and Hyena's was a highlight of the trip for us. A Lioness had recently taken up residence next to the camp and it was unbelievable to be able to watch her from the camp itself. The Masai warriors who took us back to our tent each night in the dark were definitely appreciated a bit more knowing how close to the animals we were! Of the 3 Lemala camps we stayed at, the food here was the best, with a great breakfast and dinner selection available. We took picnic lunch with us each day into the camps so cant comment on lunch at the camp but I'm sure it would have been just as good. The picnic lunches we had from every camp were great, and exactly what was needed after a morning game drive. I certainly wouldn't want to return to camp each day for lunch, as we were here on safari, not to lie around, stuff ourselves and relax! The staff here were also fantastic, which has been the same experience we have had from each Lemala camp, they are an incredible asset to the company and make it an amazing experience for guests. Lemala went above and beyond for us on this safari, with our guide from our first camp driving all the way to meet us at this one with the same open safari vehicle, which we really appreciated. Steven is an amazing guide, and we learnt so much from him. We saw so many things that other guests who came with their own guides missed, and that was entirely down to his experience, knowledge and passion. Lemala definitely go above and beyond to make sure their guests have a great experience. Following a chat with one of the owners, James, when at Mpingo Ridge a few night before where my wife commented that she would have loved a glass of Amaretto after dinner, we were greeted on arrival by James at Nanyukie with a brand new bottle of Amaretto (which we subsequently made very good use of!) We had an incredible safari and came away with some amazing memories and photos, but the icing on the cake was the quality of service and accommodation provided by Lemala at the 3 camps we stayed at. We would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of coming to Tanzania on safari, and will certainly use them again if (when..) we go back!
We couldn’t ask for more. Stunning camp, great service, great food and incredible wildlife sightings. We added a sundowner drive and our guide found us an amazing pride of lions on the way followed by drinks set up in a perfect picturesque spot. Our kids (3 and 7) were treated like royalty and had so much fun doing archery with the Maasai. They also loved their little bag surprise!
Perfect Serengeti Lodging
Lemala Nanyukie were excellent hosts for our 3 day stay in late June 2021. It sits in a stunning location with wide views of a savannah featuring acacia trees and wildlife including an occasional elephant. One of the escorts showed us a lion on the hill just up from the main building after we woke one morning! Goodluck, Rebecca, Agugu, and the entire staff made sure we were well-fed, welcomed, pampered, and safe. The rooms were spacious, private-feeling, elegant, and comfortable, with views of the savannah. The USB chargers at the bedsides were especially convenient. The drink and food was of excellent quality and exquisitely presented. The laundry service returned all of our items the same evening. We were repeatedly eager to return from our daily drives to be greeted by warm scented cloths to clean our faces and hands. We recommend Lemala Nanyukie highly and without reservation.
