Beautiful hotel, room was lovely you get a villa with own pool which is very relaxing. Birds everywhere made the setting very peaceful. Restaurants had a great selection of food. Very good quality, esp the buffet evening. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Really nice bar and lovely staff shout out to Mathieu and David who made great cocktails. Breakfast was fantastic too shout out to Dhauish and Pritila for great service. One evening I wasn’t feeling well and rather than waste dinner Akael and Dhanish arranged to deliver to room which shows they really care. Also shout out to Iwin, Ramel. All the staff were amazing. Also had great housekeepers Gillehod and Babita who gave us great recommendations, best experience ever! Enjoyed the gym too, great yoga and the fruit bats!
Maradiva - The Perfect Hotel for a Perfect Honeymoon
We stayed at the Maradiva for 12 fabulous days. We had booked through Trailfinders who helped us pick the hotel, arranged transfers and excursions which made the process painless. Staying from the 20th of May till the 1st of June the country was approaching winter but the temperature never dipped where we thought it was chilly. But it did mean the country was less busy and we had a couple of rainy mornings. The hotel is just fantastic and faultless. I couldn't recommend it more! We stayed in a luxury suite pool villa which is the standard type, it is anything but standard! Massive bed, huge bathroom with walk-in shower and an outside shower (yes the outside shower is heated). The room had an outside area to relax during lazy days. The pool was big enough to relax in but not heated so could be a bit chilly on cloudy days. It was a nice relief on hot days though. All plug sockets could take UK plugs so no need for an adapter. WiFi in the rooms and across the hotel is free and speedy. What really made this holiday perfect was the staff at the hotel. From the front desk to cleaning staff to restaurants the standard was excellent. Everyone was friendly and always helpful. All staff spoke French and English fluently. A special mention to David the bartender and his team for his good sense of humour and great drinks! Kenny the concierge helped us with planning a tour in the hotel's Rolls Royce and was friendly throughout our stay. Nashrik, a waiter at Coast2Coast, worked very hard especially when the restaurant got busy whilst delivering a high level of service. The beach team were great and always on hand when passing the time on the beach. Also a special mention to the chefs who consistently delivered perfectly cooked and presented dishes. Both seafood and meat are cooked to perfection. We went on several trips through the hotel including snorkelling, which is included in the price, and swimming with dolphins. Both were incredible and the sea is nice and warm. We also made use of the kayaking and paddle boarding again included in the price. We recommend the spa treatments which were so good. In particular a romantic couples massage and bath with champagne! The food was delicious at all three restaurants. Cilantro was our favourite for the best madras we'd ever had. The buffet in Coast2Coast on Sundays had an amazing selection and a chance to try oysters and sea urchins. We also made use of the in-villa dining which was lovely and well thought out. The little touches made everything better as well. Amuse bouche served in the evenings with drinks before dinner was a nice surprise and tasted great. We also sometimes had houmous and breadsticks delivered to the room when we stayed in late. Whilst the wine tended to be on the pricy side the beer and cocktails were well priced as the local beer is tasty and cheap. The beer is also priced the same in the minibar in the room which I found a nice surprise. It was difficult to leave at the end of our honeymoon and we very much want to return when we next get a chance!
The most amazing Babymoon!
Wow! Where do I start! I'm so happy I chose to come to this beautiful island and this amazing villa for our babymoon. Please do not think twice about booking this place. You most certainly will not regret it! The instant we entered the resort we were met with such a warm welcome by each and every member of the lobby staff. Although rules have lapsed in England, it's brilliant to see every staff member adhering to their local PPE guidelines with facemasks and placements of hand gels all around the resort. Our luxury suite villa was perfect! They even decorated our room with "Happy Baby Moon" which is such a sweet touch! The villa was clean and the design is beautiful. The soothing promotion video on the tv was relaxing to listen to, we didnt feel the need to watch tv when we had that on. We dont usually like having our room changed daily but thank you housekeeping for your hardwork. Thank you Bobita for helping my husband out with the correct pillows for sleep. The spa service was wonderful. I don't usually have massages but my husband thoroughly enjoyed the head and back massages. Such welcoming staff and clean facilities. Dining here was a wonderful experience. The food at Cilantro indian was delicious. Thank you Viroshnee, Ravi, Dhrun and Tej for the wonderful services. Food is better than some Indian places I've tried in the UK! Also the live indian band adds to the soothing ambiance. Thank you chef Kelly at Teppinyaki. We had never tried Japanese cuisine before but you have now changed our minds. Staff at Coast2coast and Breakers bar were always so friendly and welcoming. They work so hard but never fail to make their guests feel comfortable and at home. Special thanks to Akhil and Joshan for arranging and hosting our perfect beach dinner. Payen and the rest of the staff were brilliant too. Thank you Santa for our yummy eggs each morning. Going to miss them! Brilliant touch with the live band too for dinner. Sanjay and team were great at the boat house. Really looked after us and what a what a wonderful idea to add complimentary water activities to our stay. We highly recommend you take on this opportunity. We did pedalboat and had the most scenic views all to ourselves in sea. The beach was so pretty and clean. All beach staff and security were so friendly and made us feel safe. This resort really does live up to its name. It truely is 5 stars and more! Every staff memeber is so professional and smiling. This really makes a difference to ones stay. Staff went above and beyond to ensure I was well throughout my stay and that my needs were being met. Its brilliant location and beautiful views of the mountain and the most serene sunsets makes this hotel the perfect location! I cannot wait to post my photos on Instagram for you to see. Even the hotel director/manager took his time to always greet us when he saw us :) Lobby staff were so kind enough to let us stay in our villa after checkout and they even held our bags for us and gave us a cute gift on departure. Thank you Maradiva for the most beautiful and relaxing babymoon. We were definitely able to de-stress from our busy lives back home and truely make the most of this wonderful stay. ❤️
The perfect vacation
If you're ever planning to visit Mauritius, Maradiva should be at the top of your list. Everything was perfect to the point, the views the services and the villa, it depends on how would you define privacy but it was a really private and enjoyable one. It's the definition of the luxury service, Shenaaz from the house keeping was amazing, Garvin at coast to coast restaurant was on point regarding the service. Definitely a 5 star + resort.
Remarkable place and excellent staff!
We stayed at Maradiva for 9 truly enjoyable honeymoon days. The villa was delightful - spaxious, comfortable, well designed and furnished, and with a beautiful outdoor seating area and pool. Showers (indoor and outdoor) and bath were top notch, as were the Hermes shampoos and products supplied. The grounds are beautiful and the three restaurants on offer are pretty great too. Highest marks for the Teppanyaki restaurant, which was consistently excellent. The spa and massage/ayurvedic services was also deserve special mention. Outside the villa, our favourite part of the hotel was the beach, with its incredible views of mountains and towns along the coast, and an outstanding service team - led by the brilliant Olivier and featuring other excellent members (Ashvine, Bradley, and Ritesh) - who spared no effort to make our experience exquisite. Small note that the beach, while excellent, features relatively shallow waters, which seems to be the case for Flic-en-Flac in general. The one negative I would mention is some apparent issues with consistency of service quality, most notably with dining. Specifically, there were a few relatively egregious issues with Coast2Coast night service and in-villa dining night service (likely the same chef). All of our other dining experiences were quite impeccable. Other than dining, some inconsistency in service quality was observed once or twice with housekeeping, unfortunately, although the issues were addressed quickly once raised. There are also a few things that this otherwise wonderful hotel should improve upon to meet the high expectations of the discerning clientele who stay at high-end 5* resorts, such as ensuring rapid answering of the main reception line (which often was not the case). Despite these relatively minor issues, I am giving top rating to Maradiva because (a) they do not justify knocking off a full point, in light of the excellence in most other regards, and (b) because I would not hesitate to return in the future. In fact we may opt to celebrate my birthday there next year! Other than the beach service team, I'd like to shout out to other people who made our stay wonderful: Nitish, David, Pritila, Yudish, Vijay, Kenny, and Veren (the delightful chauffeur who was our first contact on arrival).
