 Cities and Medinas of Morocco

This 7-night holiday takes you from Casablanca to Fes and Rabat, combining sacred sites, Roman mosaics, a Moroccan vineyard and guided city discoveries.

These three cities do very different things well. In Casablanca, Hassan II Mosque rises beside the Atlantic, while a guided day draws out the city’s Muslim, Jewish, and Christian heritage. Fes has a medina that’s best explored with someone who knows it: behind the historic walls, tanneries and craft workshops are still part of daily life. Three nights here also leave a day for Roman Volubilis, lunch and wine at a vineyard, and the former imperial city of Meknes. Then Rabat brings you back to the Atlantic. See the capital’s landmarks by electric tricycle, then explore its food with a guide. It’s a full week, with private transfers between cities and guided days that help you understand what you’re seeing.

Day 1

Casablanca

Arrive in Casablanca and take a private transfer to your hotel. Morocco’s largest city is also a busy Atlantic port, with broad avenues, Art Deco buildings, and an old medina. Take the rest of the day at your own pace.

Day 2

Casablanca

Your included full-day tour explores the places that tell Casablanca’s religious history. Begin at Hassan II Mosque, where Moroccan craftsmanship meets a striking oceanfront setting. At the Museum of Moroccan Judaism and Beth El Synagogue, learn about the city’s Jewish heritage, then visit the Catholic Church of Notre-Dame de Lourdes. A walk through the old medina brings these stories back to the city's streets.

Days 3 & 4

Fes

Travel inland to Fes by private transfer. You’ll spend three nights here, with time to discover its UNESCO-listed medina, one of Morocco’s great historic old cities. Your guided introduction begins tomorrow.Your full-day walking tour leads through the medina’s narrow lanes, past the tilework of Al-Attarine Madrasa, the tanneries, and craftspeople at work. See the architecture of Al-Qarawiyyin and step into a traditional home for mint tea and a conversation about daily life. You’ll also pass through the souks and see Bab Bou Jeloud, the ornate gate at one of the medina’s entrances. Your guide handles the route, leaving you free to notice what’s happening around you.

Day 5

Volubilis and Meknes

Spend the day beyond Fes, beginning at Volubilis. Walk among the remains of this UNESCO-listed Roman city, where intricate floor mosaics still lie in place. Continue to a vineyard for a tour and lunch paired with Moroccan wines. In Meknes, see the monumental Bab Mansour gate and visit Dar Jamaï, a former palace now home to the National Museum of Music, before returning to Fes.

Days 6-8

Rabat

A private transfer takes you to Rabat for your final two nights. Morocco’s capital brings together a historic medina, wide boulevards, and an Atlantic setting. You’ll get to see the capital from an electric tricycle with a guide. Your route takes you through the medina and past the Kasbah of the Udayas, which overlooks the river near the Atlantic, as well as Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. In the afternoon, a guided food tour gives you another way into the city. It’s a fitting final day: Rabat’s landmarks first, then time to find out what’s cooking. On your last day, a private transfer takes you to Casablanca airport for your flight home.
