A former family home turned intimate hotel, with a heated pool and plenty of outdoor space.
Villa Mandarine sits in an orange grove in residential Souissi, and feels far removed from the pace of central Rabat. Ground-floor rooms open onto little gardens of their own, upstairs rooms have balconies, and the heated pool is surrounded by greenery.
The family history still shapes the hotel. Its owner taught art history in Paris before turning the house into a hotel, and art appears throughout, from reproductions in the bedrooms to original works by Moroccan artists in the shared spaces. Meals move outside when the weather allows, while Rabat’s historic sights are an easy drive away.

Rooms
Rooms feel individual rather than uniform, with colour, art, and the gardens always close by. Ground-floor rooms open onto small private gardens, while those upstairs have balconies. Luxe Rooms add individually chosen antique furniture and slightly more generous bed options. Classic and Luxe Rooms have similar proportions, so the choice is more about styling and bed setup than extra space. The suites add separate sitting areas, while the Villa Mandarine Suite links two bedrooms with a shared garden-facing lounge.

Facilities
The kitchen follows the market and seasons, with Moroccan cooking alongside international dishes rather than a fixed hotel formula. The setting changes with the weather too: meals can move outside among flowers and fruit trees, while the indoor dining rooms keep the gardens in view. Drinks and lighter bites can be taken out to the terraces or garden.
The Restaurant
Open for lunch and dinner, with Moroccan and international dishes that change with the market and seasons. On warm days, choose the flower-filled terrace among the fruit trees; indoors, colourful dining rooms look straight onto the gardens.
The Bar
Open from midday into the evening for drinks and snacks. Settle on a sunny or shaded terrace, or take a table out in the garden.

The Villa Mandarine Suite is the most useful setup for families or friends travelling together, linking two Luxe Rooms with a shared sitting room. Beyond the bedrooms, there’s plenty of outdoor space, plus the heated pool, table tennis, and pétanque.
