Perhaps the world’s most prestigious ski resort, Aspen Snowmass combines four incredibly varied mountains, a charming town and internationally renowned après-ski.
The four mountains, all covered by one lift ticket, are linked by an excellent complimentary bus service, and the skiing is simply amazing. Aspen Mountain, in the centre of town, is purely intermediate and expert terrain. Buttermilk is an ideal environment for novices. The largest ski area is Snowmass at 6 miles across and covering 3332 acres - the excellent children’s ski school also has its primary home here. Last but not least, Aspen Highlands is where the big boys go - home to the legendary Highland Bowl.
Meanwhile the shopping, eating and drinking extravaganza centred around the town in Aspen is of urban proportions, all packed into eight square blocks. Alternatively, stay at the fantastic Snowmass Village where from much of the accommodation you can ski-in/ski-out directly to the slopes, making it an ideal choice for families.
