Meeru Maldives Resort Island

A great value getaway

Sand-floor bars and thatched open-air restaurants lend a casual and unpretentious feel to this large and popular island.

Despite its size and ample facilities, Meeru retains a tranquil atmosphere. As with most of the larger islands in the Maldives, you’ll be allocated a main buffet restaurant for meals, depending on your room type and location. And while families adore it here, the resort has cleverly zoned adults-only facilities, including one of the main restaurants, a bar, and one of the two pools.

Why we love Meeru Maldives Resort Island

  • There are more facilities than what’s typical for the Maldives, including a nine-hole pitch and putt course

  • A museum exhibits Maldivian artefacts

  • There’s plenty going on in the evening, with live bands, karaoke, and movie nights on rotation

  • Simpler accommodation options are perfect for those wanting to save a little by skipping a sea view and luxury extras
