What a fantastic hotel
Where do I start what can I say the location is on the beach or if you prefer you can go around outdoor pools if your not a beach person. The beach bar is served by the friendliest staff all superbly trained live music nightly where you can dine under the stars food very good. We chose not to have breakfast as we are not morning eaters but we did have cappuccino and the restaurant was full of people never see any complaints which you see in other resorts so I assume all was good. We booked a suite and were given a complimentary upgrade spacious comfortable bed nice balcony with microwave and cutlery etc for room service and they have a big pizza oven which a lot of guests ordered takeaways. Air conditioning excellent tv has all channels Australia news and CNN etc we never switched tv on mini bar kettle etc for that early tea or coffee when you wake up. Check in prompt porter takes luggage to the room and explained all about the hotel etc free beach activities paddle boards kayak we never used but others did with staff on guard watching. We only stayed for 2 days as we met our friend who has worked on a couple of cruise ships we have travelled on so we drove from Sanur our other Balinese friend drove us sorry we could stay longer as we already had booked hotels in other parts of Bali PS sunsets amazing. nice place to stay
The suite is big, windows can not be opened at night, kitchen with microwave oven only. Beautiful garden, friendly staff, good food and beverage, room was quiet at night. Water bottles in eyery room, which can be refilled at several refilling stations. Strange sink in the bathroom: at a height of 110 cm (!) and about 60 cm depth – not useable for children. For taking the soap, shampoo etc, they will charge you with an extra USD 10,-
Me of Bali’s Best
After a couple of decades visiting Bali literally dozens of times we finally decided to check out the north coast and headed to Lovina. The drive up the mountain range from the south was really enjoyable with lots of tropical jungle and a couple of large lakes (very rare in Bali) to pass away the drive. Then the drive down the mountain winding through the many cute little villages featured truly spectacular views over the jungle and out to the sea. When we reached the coast it was like we’d entered a time warp and gone back 20 years to a Bali without the hustle and bustle and all the beautiful, friendly Balinese people. Lovina is charming and the friendly locals have kept it so beautifully well. We booked a package at The Lovina and from the reviews we’d read and photos we’d seen, we were really looking forward to a good stay. Well, this hotel has actually exceeded our high expectations. We were greeted with the biggest smiles and warmest welcome by no less that 5 or 6 staff as well as the duty manager, all locals we’ve since discovered. I saw them extend this same welcome to every guest when they arrived. There seems to be a hundred staff here and they are all so friendly, eager to chat and help and all wearing very smart uniforms. Even the team of gardeners are dressed in well presented uniforms. The hotel itself is pure quality build. The externals and internals are all high quality fittings and nothing looks aged. It’s so well maintained to a very high standard. We stayed in a one bedroom villa with private pool. Not a spider’s web in sight or scuff mark or anything like that inside or out, quality doors, floors, windows, lighting, taps fixtures etc. and the gardens are magnificently manicured. There’s literally not a blade of grass or stray leaf out of place. This place really takes the cake in modern quality, yet it sits among the old Bali I used to know before commercialism sort of got the better of the old charm. The cocktail bar and restaurant literally has the calm sea lapping right up to it. Each night they had a different local 3 person acoustic band playing for guests right on the beach. The spa and massage studio is set in the gardens in between the villas. And it’s all so very quiet and tranquil. I could go on, but I think you get the gist. This resort and its setting is exceptional and we will return for a longer stay next time.
The Lovina is 5 Stars Across The Board
Beautiful spaces. Clean rooms w great AC. Gorgeous pool. Free shuttle that takes you anywhere into town. There is a laundromat right at the end of the road. And dozens of good restaurants for cheap meals nearby. The staff of the Lovina all go above and beyond to make sure you have a good stay. Free rental of paddle boards and kayaks. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we’ve had. The list goes on. Don’t hesitate for a minute to stay here.
Another lovely stay
Our second time at the Lovina and it was possibly better than the first. The entire staff was without exception cheerful and friendly. Rooms were clean and the food was good. Setting is wonderful, love the beachfront dining and the excellent snorkeling a 10 minute boat ride away.
