One word: perfect!
We had our wedding in Santiburi and we are beyond grateful to each and every member of our wedding team, because they really prepared royal treatment for us. We can only use superlatives for all of the services they provided for us. The facilities are beautiful, the food is delicious, the stuff is helpful and super kind and the atmosphere is just perfect. Using one word: paradise. Thank you. We’ll be back for sure.
Beautiful resort to relax
We stayed at the Santiburi on Koh Samui for a week after a few days in Bangkok. Upon arrival, you are greeted like royalty and this sets the tone for the level of service you will enjoy. The staff whether at the beach, the restaurant, reception go out of their way to ensure your comfort and happiness. The attention to detail is extraordinary. The grounds of the resort are beautiful, you feel like you are in a tropical forest. It is very quiet resort, lots of space, you never need to worry about finding a chair. But it is not for the party crowd. The quality of the food is exceptional, while you will likely venture off resort a few times, you’ll find that you’re best served at one of their restaurants and the prices, while not cheap, are not unreasonable. We would go back, and highly recommend. It was one of our best hotel/resort experiences, and we’ve had quite a few...
Beautiful Resort with impecable service and the best pool Villas. The main pool area is one of the best I have seen and breakfasts were yum with a lot of variety. throughly recomend for families and couples.
An unpretentious luxury hotel with good food, friendly staff, splendid beach and excellent facilities
Having stayed in Santiburi in 2005 with our two daughters, we decided to return as a couple in November. There have been changes - the vegetation has grown up and the grounds are verdant; the resort was upgraded and expanded in 2014 to provide more villas with their own pools. Otherwise many of the features that we enjoyed remain - a large and clean beach with many loungers and coconut trees for shade, an oval olympic size pool, again with a large number of loungers, and a selection of restaurants. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe Pool Villa, which was spacious and well appointed, with a good sized plunge pool (over 10m long) and a large area of decking with sun loungers and umbrella. The is a sala next to the pool with a small table and chairs which would be ok if you want to eat outside. We would have preferred a large chaise in the sala where we could lounge outside in the shade and read, and this was one drawback compared to other villas we have stayed in in similar hotels. The villa is mostly very private apart from a short gap in the surrounding fence that means passers-by can see into the pool area. We also looked at the newer pool villas which are called Grand Reserve Pool Villas. These are very well appointed, but have smaller pools, smaller garden and a less traditional feel. Breakfasts are excellent, with a wide variety of options for guests from around the world (although the majority of guests seemed to be from German speaking Europe). There is a Thai restaurant serving very good quality food in the evenings, and another restaurant on the beach serving various meat, fish and vegetarian meals and lighter options. The food is very good and sensibly priced, but if you are 'foodie' do not expect Michelin type frills. As with other hotels in Thailand, wine is very expensive (the cheapest bottle being $50+) which is mainly the high tax. The hotel is near the main road where there are a number of mini-markets, restaurants, laundries and massage establishments so one is not confined to hotel fare and amenities. We had an excellent Indian meal at Babu's Indian Hot Restaurant, and there is also a German restaurant nearby that seemed popular. The gym is well equipped and there is a good tennis court. I played tennis daily with Mr Noe from the gym team who was a challenging opponent and certainly not there to let the guests win! There is a superbly equipped children's centre with local and German staff to mind the children. Finally, the staff were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. A couple of reviews suggested that there might be a management/staff issue, but we certainly did not get any such impression. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday in one of the nicest villas we've come across.
Relaxing visit at Santiburi Koh Samui
After two weeks traveling in Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai), we ended our trip at this resort where we stayed two years ago. It was a perfect way to end the trip: Relaxing! This time, we did not leave the resort. We spent our time swimming at the pool and the beach. The food was good, but the staff was better: very friendly and helpful. Also, we were there for a full moon - the lighting on the beach was impressive - see photo. We will return!
