The rooms, suites and villas, of which there are 122, have a harmonious flow from each bedroom to their oversized en suites and outdoor spaces. The hotel’s rooms come up top on Koh Samui for their generous size and have lovely features like deep soaking tubs and indoor-outdoor rain showers. We love the outdoor swing in Deluxe Plunge Pool Rooms which hangs above the plunge pool, and the open-plan design in Anantara Pool Villas where your four-poster bed gets a view of the huge private pool area.

If the high-end Anantara brand and excellent location weren’t enough, the Tree Top Signature Dining experience single handedly puts the hotel on the island’s fine dining map. Artistic European-Asian food is brought to you in your personal sala with a side of sea views. It’s the kind of romantic setting that’s booked in advance for anniversaries and honeymoons and becomes the highlight of most people’s stay. Private dining experiences don’t stop there either; Anantara’s Dining by Design concept is all about secret dining set-ups for two, like night picnics on the sand or a table in the middle of a candlelit garden. All food is of exceptional quality, including the seafood at Crab Shack and at Ocean Kiss, where breakfast comes with a rainbow fruit spread, buttery pastries and chefs on hand for French toast or even sushi made for you on the spot.

Tree Top Signature Dining
One of the most special restaurants on the island – it’s an intimate set-up of eight private sea-glimpsing salas with a European-Asian menu. It’s a popular restaurant that has to be booked in advance.
Crab Shack
One of the latest additions to the resort, Crab Shack is a must for seafood lovers. Aprons are provided as this is a hands-only dining experience.

The Singing Bird Lounge
Set in the canopy, the cocktails here are named after birds - drinks include the Red-whiskered Bulbul and The Violet Crow.

At the spa, unwind with the Anantara Lawana Coconut Paradise treatment. Used in the scrubs and massages, it embraces the health benefits of the coconut. Other therapies include turmeric body scrubs, herbal steam and green tea wraps.

Go on a guided market tour and learn how to cook Thai food at Spice Spoons, join a professional for a lesson in Thai boxing, take a Land Rover excursion into the island's lush interior or visit one of the many temples on Koh Samui.
Koh Samui is a wonderful destination for snorkelling and diving or take a private boat charter to see the limestone rock formations.
Anantara Lawana has a number of sustainable initiatives. Working with local farmers and fishermen, produce is sourced locally and free-range eggs are bought from the Bhavana Bodhigan Vocational College, a local charity. The resort's gardens are irrigated from a ground well and the Lawana Fermentation Lab reduces food waste to create innovative cocktails and snacks.
The Little Bird Kids' Club keeps young ones entertained with yoga on the beach, balloon art and origami just some of the activities on offer.
The ocean views are an easy distraction at the nearby par 72 golf course at Santiburi Country Club.
