Absolutely fantastic and very special stay that will remain a unique memory for years to come
Extremely friendly and helpful staff that are genuinely very kind and great people. Fantastic lodge with spacious and nicely decorated tree house with amazing views. The food is delicious. It is such a special place to spend a few days. There was nothing we didn't like or thought could have been improved - a rare gem! I cannot recommend it highly enough!
From the waterbuck welcoming committee to the spacious tented room wrapped around an ancient baobab tree, the warm, gracious, low-key, and inviting staff, extraordinary food, outstanding guide (we had Stanford and were beyond delighted), relaxing atmosphere, knock your socks off sundowner, and peerless nearby National Park, we were delighted with each moment. You can't go wrong here and will have many wonderful memories that will forever warm your heart. This was the best place we stayed in Tanzania, bar none.
We recently stayed here on the first night of our safari. I suspected when we left that the rest of the lodges would fail to live up to this one and I was right. The room, essentially a luxury treehouse, was incredible. The service was the best we had ever experienced. When we arrived at our room three Maasai sang us a song as it was our honeymoon which was a lovely touch. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was so relaxed. Five Stars all round
An excellent & original lodge
Elewana's Tarangire Treetops is an excellent and original lodge. The staff were all and always very hospitable and welcoming. Nicolas, my butler / server. looked after me very well, throughout, with food, drinks, wake-up call etc. Packed 'hamper' lunches were excellent, with hot soup, salads, meat, chocolate cake, wine & coffee etc. There was far too much for just me (& my guide) to eat! This was particularly good on the day of my arrival (with a delayed local flight), to have a picnic lunch ready for the pick-up from the airstrip, to enable a good, relaxed afternoon's game drive, rather than having to rush to the lodge. (The lodge is much further from the park than I expected, meaning that a game drive in the park required the full day, with picnic lunch). It was very enjoyable to have dinners in different locations around the main area each night. However, I did not find the dinners quite the best that I have experienced & expected from other Eleqana lodges / camps. A sundowner on the sunset hill was beautiful, and should be a 'must do' for anyone staying. I also thoroughly enjoyed the walking safari, although it did get hot very quickly. Elly, my guide, was excellent, very informative, but without being too 'pushy' (for an experienced safari visitor). He adapted well to my needs & wishes, and willingness to watch & wait patiently, rather than rushing. Everyone should be warned much more, and quite clearly, about the TERRIBLE tsetse flies. They very nearly spoiled part of my stay! Thanks to Clay, Elly, Nicholas and the whole team for my wonderful stay!
Amazing treetop rooms
I have travelled around the world and never spent a night in a treehouse like this before. The room was spacious and clean and there was a huge patio where we could sit and listen to the birds. The lodge itself was lovely with a nice pool, great view and the food was terrific. The staff was interested in us and ensuring that our stay went perfectly.
