Very tranquil, welcoming and fresh - perfect for a couple of days of relaxation!
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my family, we had a truly amazing time there! First of all, the hotel's location is incredible as it is nestled between a river and the ocean. The beach is sandy and it is so easy to access, it is just outside the hotel. The pool is also phenomenal, big and wide, and it has a bar! Breakfast buffet felt endless and the food at the main sea food restaurant, I just do not remember its name.., was so delicious! You can also see some art pieces here and there, what gives the property an extra Sri Lankan feeling. As the hotel has been recently renovated, it is also super clean. And it looks like they put a lot of attention to the service, as it was at its best, we felt welcome anytime and anywhere. The hotel has a lot of outdoor area so we could also enjoy some privacy and didn't feel squeezed with other guests. I am wondering if other Cinnamon hotels are similar. I am planning to check them out next time.
Visited Cinnamon Beach hotel with my family in February 2020. The hotel was completely renovated and opened in Feb 2020. One block was still not ready for operation. The hotel could not have found a better location and is sandwiched between the Bentota river on one side and the ocean on the other. The entrance and lobby blows you away. The main lobby is a delighful mix of daylight and colour. The Front office staff was extremely welcoming. The lobby has a long bar with expansive views of the river. The rooms were very well appointed. The ones we had, had big balconies overlooking the beach. The hotel has multiple pools and has a play area for children, which we loved. My best compliments are reserved for the staff at the hotel. Each one of them was extremely warm and friendly and made sure they made us feel special. Even the houskeeping staff was always checking our our comfort. Petrina, from the Front Office really took care of our daughter and made her day by gifting her a stuffed toy. The food was good - specially the Breakfast buffet which is really expansive and was always fresh. We shall definitely return to the hotel on our next visit to Bentota.
This iconic hotel designed by Geoffrey Bawa and painstakingly restored and renovated did not disappoint. Particularly notable was the incorporation of exceptional Sri Lankan art and craft throughout the hotel, including the brilliant batik ceiling in the reception area. Its location is outstanding: we loved the beautiful views, the fabulous pools and easy access to Bentota beach. Staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and welcoming (particular thanks to Daphni and Priyantha). Food was great, including exceptional North Indian cuisine. We look forward to a return visit.
This hotel has huge potential and is in a lovely location very close to the beach. The staff are very attentive and work very hard to please the guests at all times. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. As this is such a new hotel, there are still a few teething issues such as the gym aircon did not always work, and there were a couple of power cuts whilst we were in there. There are so many staff members that sometimes it is a little overwhelming. It is with good intentions of course. The food was very nice too.
The rooms had either a river view or a sea view which was really nice to see. The rooms were really comfortable and the staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The food was also really tasty as we had a variety of Sri Lankan, Indian, Chinese and Italian.
