Hotel Wailea, Relais & Chateau

Unadulterated Hawaii luxury awaits

An exclusive and elevated retreat with zen-inspired gardens and 180-degree views of the ocean.

This incredible hotel on Maui’s western shore is the only Relais & Chateaux property in Hawaii. You could be forgiven for thinking you have this entire place to yourself as you wander through the spacious garden. There are hidden-away nooks, private gazebos, tree-shaded orchards, cosy fire pits and sea views at almost every turn. Even the fitness studio has the wow factor; if 180-degree views of the beautiful grounds and the Pacific beyond aren’t a good enough reason to work out (try aerial yoga or a dance trapeze session) we don’t know what is. For a day at the coast, the Beach Concierge Service will shuttle you to the coast and provide you with towels, bottled water and chairs for a day at the beach.

As you would expect from Relais & Chateaux, the cuisine here is really something to write home about. Sourcing their produce as locally as possible, there’s a real focus on artisanal and organic ingredients. The main venue is the award-winning The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea where there’s an incredible menu of seasonal, island-grown dishes. For a special occasion there’s the Treehouse which is like a secret retreat where a seven-course private chef dinner is served alongside breathtaking ocean views.

Restaurant at Hotel Wailea
With dreamy ocean views and a menu packed with local produce, it's no wonder this venue has been voted one of the Top 10 Best Restaurants in Hawaii.

The Birdcage
The Japanese al fresco restaurant offers sushi, sashimi platters and specialty grills accompanied by ocean views.

The Treehouse
Set under a canopy of mango and avocado trees, this is the ultimate private dining experience. Enjoy a culinary journey through a seven-course menu, prepared by your private chef.

The Cabanas
For a more relaxed option, head to a poolside cabana for cocktails and snacks.

Described as 'Maui's best kept secret dining experience' the seven-course dinner at The Treehouse is prepared tableside and the perfect destination to celebrate a special occasion.

Spa treatments can be arranged in the privacy of your suite and there are daily wellness classes from meditation and stretching to dance trapeze and aerial yoga.

Rent an electric bike or a vintage Porsche convertible to explore the island, take a hike through Haleakalā Crater, go bird watching or join the bartender for a mixology lesson.

Relax in a poolside cabana or if you want to feel the sand between your toes, allow the hotel's Beach Concierge Service to whisk you to one of the island's many beaches where they will set up your chairs, towels and water ready for a day at the beach. Led by a guide, board an outrigger canoe and go snorkelling.

Guests over 16 years are welcome at this hotel.

It is standard practice for resorts/hotels within the USA to charge a mandatory resort fee which is payable locally.

This fee can be anywhere between 5USD to 40 USD per room per night and is not included in the cost of your Kuoni holiday.
