Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa

Fun for all of the family

This sprawling resort is perfect for those who like to be on the go.

The Hyatt Regency bags 40 acres on a seriously enviable spot on the mile-long Ka'anapali Beach. Families adore it here as “I’m bored” moments are almost impossible. Yet there’s plenty of space for everyone, with couples finding the beach, spa, restaurants, and stargazing too good to miss. Being part of an international hotel chain means the Hyatt Regency may appear to lack local authenticity but, with the wide-ranging facilities and a dazzling selection of restaurants on offer, perhaps you can forgive the slightly corporate vibes.

Why we love Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa

  • Despite the size of resort, Hyatt Regency has implemented a number of sustainable initiatives

  • Children can improve their swimming skills with a training session at the Mindful Mermaid Academy

  • Learn about the night sky with a stargazing session on the rooftop

  • Take a lesson at the golf studio with the golf pro or try FootGolf - a mix of soccer and golf

Start the day relaxed with breakfast at the Swan Court with waterfalls cascading over lava rock as swans swim by. Ūmalu is the poolside restaurant keeping you refreshed throughout the day. In the evening choose from Asian/Island dishes at Japengo or a juicy prime cut from Son'z Steakhouse.

Japengo
A wonderful fusion restaurant serving Asian and island-inspired dishes.

Ūmalu
This popular poolside venue serves drinks and snacks, with sport on the screens and evening music by local musicians.

Swan Court Breakfast
Watch the swans glide past the cascading waterfalls as you make your selection from the breakfast buffet.

Son'z Steakhouse
Fresh seafood and prime cuts of beef paired with an extensive wine list - no wonder this steakhouse has won many awards.

Drums of the Pacific Lu'au
The conch sounds, the drums start to beat, the chants begin and the torches are lit. Welcome to a traditional evening of local food and entertainment.

Honolulu Coffee
The place to try the famous roasted Kona coffee - produced on the volcanic slopes of Mauna Loa.

We love the mix of dishes at Japengo from seafood curry bowls to ginger-glazed beef. Save room for dessert - where ginger crème brûlée and ka'anapali pie with macadamia nut ice cream are on the menu.

The team of professionals at Spa Soleil and Boutique combine modern techniques with Hawaiian traditions in a range of therapies. Treatments include warm coconut scalp massages, cocoa butter skin infusions and hot stone massages.

The fitness centre is equipped with Peloton bikes.

Walk or jump on the complimentary Ka'anapali Trolley to the Whaler's Village beachfront shopping mall. At the weekends, enjoy a night of stargazing at the rooftop astronomy. During the whale watching season in February and March, meet the wildlife team to learn about these magnificent creatures.

Surrounded by tropical plants, there are six free-form swimming pools including a children's area. Are you brave enough to journey through the 150-foot lava tube waterslide?

If you are spending the day on Ka'anapali Beach, the Pool Desk can arrange backpack chairs for you to take.

Hyatt Regency has gained gold LEED-Ebom certification through its leadership in its sustainability projects and was the first resort in Hawaii to earn the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) TRUE Waste Precertification.

Island grown produce and locally caught fish is used in the restaurants and there is a self-guided sustainability tour with information boards throughout the resort.

There are some great family activities here. At The Mindful Mermaid Academy children can perfect their swimming skills to become a mermaid. At the Wildlife University, learn how the resort's 50 resident birds are kept healthy and happy.

Suitable for beginners or if you want to improve your game, join a session with the golf pro at the Golf Studio by YO! Maui. There are two golf courses within a mile of the resort, plus Maui's only nine-hole FootGolf - a hybrid game of soccer and golf.
