Travel Kuoni

A city-and-island holiday combining three nights of sizzling Miami energy with the slow, salt-flat beauty of South Caicos.

Miami and South Caicos are a brilliant culture-shock pairing, in the best possible way. Start with three nights in Miami, where the days can be as beachy, arty, food-focused, or late-night as you like, then swap the city sizzle for South Caicos, one of Turks and Caicos’ quieter islands. Here, it’s all about pale sand, salt flats, clear water, and a slower pace that feels properly switched off.

Days 1-3

Miami

Miami gives this trip its opening buzz. Base yourself around South Beach if you want Art Deco streets, oceanfront walks, restaurants, bars, and people-watching, or use your days to head into Wynwood, Little Havana, and the Design District for murals, Cuban food, galleries, and shopping. A guided city tour is included, a smart way to get your bearings in a city that extends well beyond the beach. If the timings line up, sports tickets make a fun evening add-on, especially if you want something that feels properly local.

Days 4-8

South Caicos

It’s around a two-hour flight from Miami to South Caicos. It’s smaller, quieter, and much less developed than Providenciales, with turquoise water, salt ponds, mangroves, and a real sense of space. Once you’re there, the days are shaped by the water and the island itself: snorkelling, kayaking, land and water activities, marine-conservation experiences, and time around the salt flats, where flamingos can sometimes be seen. Food is all about the sea here, so look for conch, grouper, snapper, and simple grilled dishes that make sense in a place surrounded by water. For a final flourish, a chef’s table dinner gives the last part of the trip a sense of occasion before flying home via Miami.
