Itinerary overview
Highlights of trip
Negombo
You’ll settle into your holiday with one night at Uga Riva. A private transfer brings you from the airport to this hotel, your base for the first night.
The ideal spot for some restorative downtime close to the airport to bookend your Sri Lankan adventure.
Anuradhapura
Our car and private chauffeur option is a flexible way to travel around Sri Lanka, giving you access to a private car on demand. It’s a comfortable way to travel the four hours northeast to Anuradhapura, where you’ll be glad to check into the secluded sanctuary of Uga Ulagalla, a serene hotel set amid lush gardens with a historic manor house at its heart. You’ll spend three nights here, and your driver can take you to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the Dambulla Cave Temple during your time here if you wish.
Passikudah
Your private chauffeur guide will take you to the east coast on a 170-kilometre journey to Passikudah. You can ask your driver to break up the journey by visiting the Polonnaruwa Kingdom Ruins, where a splendid garden city existed in the 12th century. When you arrive on the shores of Vandalous Bay, you’ll bid farewell to your driver – the next few days are dedicated to pure relaxation on pristine white sands in the fabulous Uga Bay hotel.
A contemporary and luxurious retreat overlooking idyllic Passikudah Bay, ideal for snorkelling and diving.
Ella
Leaving the coast behind, enjoy a scenic drive of around six hours as you travel into Sri Lanka’s lush hill country and arrive in the charming town of Ella. The landscape changes dramatically along the way, with rolling tea plantations, waterfalls and mist‑covered peaks.During your stay, there’s time to explore at your own pace. You may choose to walk to the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, hike Little Adam’s Peak for sweeping views across the hills, or visit a local tea plantation to learn more about Sri Lanka’s world‑famous tea.
Pull the curtains, step outside, and catch glimpses of the Nine Arch Bridge as mist lifts off the hills.
Yala
You’ll take a private transfer on the 105-kilometre drive west to Yala. Another exceptional hotel awaits you at the end of the journey: the fabulous Uga Chena Huts are luxurious cabins with extraordinary views across the wilderness of Yala National Park. Over two memorable nights here, you’ll take a jeep safari to get to know Yala better with an expert guide, with the chance to spot the region’s famous residents – elephants and leopards.
A unique and luxurious property that combines local influences with the traditional décor of an African safari lodge.
Tangalle
Spend the final days of your journey on Sri Lanka’s tranquil south coast in Tangalle, where sandy beaches and a slower rhythm of life create a true sense of escape. This peaceful part of the island is known for its natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere, offering the perfect contrast to the earlier cultural and scenic highlights of the trip. With time completely at leisure, you may choose to relax by the pool, stroll along the shoreline or simply unwind and take in the views.
At Uga Prāva, a glorious infinity pool sits just above the sand, palms sway overhead, and the whole place feels more like a very well-designed beach house than a hotel.
Maldives
The Maldives is a short hop (aka a 90-minute flight) from Colombo so is the perfect beach bliss destination to add on to your Sri Lanka adventure. We feature over 35 islands resorts so there'll be one to suit your budget and tastes, just have a chat with one of our experts - they know them like the back of their hands
