5star hotel with 3star f and b service
Jetty lounge, at Melia.... has good view and that's y we decided to go for some small celebration with advance booking..... If booking is done in advance , still security ask u so many question to enter.. Welcoming was good but fnb service was stressful , Food I dint expect this bad quality n uncoocked food bcoz of decoration plate looks super cool but no taste. Live music but when to get the cake Waiter came with cake n left on table like normal plate served, Even aftr informed in advanced that's celebration... In slow season with 6 table occupied we got this service... Aftr all we requested cake to get take away they have given some pathetic box of some other items supplied to kitchen and they give us take away in that. No recommend for any typ of celebration...... Wast of money.... n spoiling of celebration. So called 5 star property for n 3star service

Covid-19: All staff maintain precaution with face masks or have had a PCR test Residence: 5* This is one huge hotel covering about 4km. It never feels too busy even with high occupancy and you can definitely get your steps in. For those that don't want the exercise, there are buggies in abundance to get you where you want to go. There is good access to the beach and pools and both are kept to a high standard and very clean. They also have a cave site within the ground worth visiting. Rooms 4* We had a Suite and our friends had a Pavillion room. The suite was spacious and came in handy when our daughter went to sleep and the adults wanted to stay up and chill. The suite had 3 bathing areas and 1 toilet. Only thing I could suggest is having a toilet available in the main living area rather than having to have to creep through the bedroom every time but in the grand scheme of things it's not the worst thing in the world. The beds were comfortable and the room had everything needed including 2 semi functioning TVs (screens would frequently freeze due to a technical issue that never got resolved sadly. Pain for watching the football). Enough power points and USB ports available for charging. Sofa's and dining area were handy when we just wanted to chill. Fully functioning air conditioning and ceiling fans with a spacious bathroom. Our friends were also chuffed with their Pavillion room. They had an amazing view and woke up to the sound of waves. The only thing that did bother us a little was that the rooms weren't always cleaned thoroughly daily. There would be a day of immaculate cleaning and another day where we would find the floor to be dirty or dusty. Staff: 4* The staff were delightful from beginning to end. Smiles and Greetings at all times. A "Jambo" here and a "Karibu" there. Made a big difference in making us all feel relaxed and welcome. Occasionally there would be a miscommunication with some staff in regards to requests but again it wasn't the end of the world. A bit of patience and trying to explain things a bit better goes a long way. (A skill my wife lacks lol). Dining: 4* There were four restaurants to pick from. The food at all four were delicious. However, except for the buffet restaurant we had no option but to go for the set menu for dinner. I'm not sure why, and the staff couldn't explain why either as the a la carte menu at Aqua looked amazing. In saying that the food in the set menu was delicious so all good. Room service was a weird one as after 11pm there were only 2 items available on the menu. So if you feel peckish post 11pm and you want a burger, you're getting a pasta. Again the food was tasty though. Special Mention Level: 5* I highly recommend getting a "Level" package. This is what really makes the difference. The staff here go above and beyond to make your stay more comfortable. We had a 3 year old child and a 30 year old child with dietary requirements. (Fussy eaters). The Level management made sure that whatever restaurant we ate at, there was a separate meal cooked for the kids that would satisfy them. Pasta/Grilled Chicken/Steak/Grilled Fish I also was looking for a certain type of soap, they managed to go to Stone Town and get it for me. Many thanks to Javier and Abdul from the Level department. Benson the buggy driver was jovial and a delight. Paul at the bar made sure we always had a beverage by the pool. The entire Level crew were amazing so thank you all.
The hotel does NOT deserve to have FIVE STARS - the stuff is very friendly and the gardens are beautiful. However, the interior finish of the rooms is sloppy and careless - I can understand that it is not Europe but prices were definitely European.
Wonderful experience, the hotel is at the highest level. The staff is friendly, helpful and friendly. The food is very good. It is very clean and tidy in the rooms and everywhere in the hotel. There is wifi everywhere and the connection is very good.
