This is a beautiful property, with the first impression of WOW. The registration building is big, the staff is very welcoming, views of the beautiful pool, part of great, expansive beach and some of the shops and restaurants. Unless you are very athletic, you will shuttle to your room. The shuttles are many, 24 hours a day and radio dispatched. From our room, we would call for shuttle and by the time we could walk to the drive, one would be waiting, they were a non issue. All the rooms are on the ocean front of a mountain with water views. Our one bedroom suite was large, well appointed and very comfortable, the lanai was large and private for total sunning. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful, the shuttle drivers, bar tenders and restaurant wait staff. The food was always good. We will return and highly recommend this resort.
Weekend Trip to St. Lucia
Beautiful resort tucked away in the hills. Loved the vibe of this resort. Would definitely recommend checking out this resort. The food was exceptionally good, staff was very pleasant and very accommodating to our requirements. Shuttle service was available to take us to and from our rooms. The beach was probably my least favorite part of this trip, simply because there were to many rocks in the water.
Perfect place to have a vow renewal
Where to begin? We started planning our trip back to our favorite resort back in August 2019 for a stay in March 2020. We knew we were going for a guaranteed amazing vacation but then we decided to make it even more special by renewing our vows. We contacted the phenomenal wedding planner, Melanie, and she was so wonderful to work with. She made everything easy & fun to plan. There were so many options we were able to have the exact ceremony that we were hoping for. It was perfect for us. Melanie also added in a few extra special details that were so thoughtful and above and beyond our expectations. The whole experience was so special. Our gratitude goes along to all of the incredible staff at the resort too. From all of the shuttle drivers, to the guest services, all of the wait & barkeep staff. They were sincere and attentive & made us feel like friends and not simply guests. This was our third trip to The Windjammer Landing and I can say it gets better and better each time. We cannot wait to return!!
Great place to relax with outstanding views
Our stay at the resort was marred by the fact that the Coronavirus caused the resort to close suddenly and we lost out on the second week of our vacation. This is by no means the resort's fault and they handled it the best they could but it was a "cloud" over us the entire week we were there. The villas are beautiful and the views outstanding. Sitting on our verandah high on the hill and watching the sunset, the sailboats and the ocean was a perfect way to spend a week. As things are very expensive at the resort it is recommended to shop for groceries, drinks, etc. in Rodney Bay before you arrive. There is a small grocery store, very expensive, and limited with items and frustrating because prices weren't listed. The restaurants are expensive which is to be expected...it is the Caribbean and a high end resort, but the service and size of the portions did not always add up to the cost of the food. The taxes are high in St. Lucia which adds to the cost of everything. We had great meals at Dragonfly but Papa Dons left a lot to be desired. Half hearted service and extremely small portions. Embers is a great place for lunch. We only ate breakfast in the villa. Service at bars could be better. One time I counted 6 employees standing around the bar doing nothing. They could have been going down the beach taking drink orders. Overall, this is a perfect place to spend a week or more. Relaxing, well stocked villas, and the view cannot be topped. It's definitely paradise.
Best All-Inclusive Resort I’ve visited!
I’ve been to all-inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic and Cancun, and this tops them all. St. Lucia itself is an incredibly beautiful, welcoming and clean country. We arrived on a Friday, and it took about 2 hours from the international airport to the resort (due to traffic from Independence Day). We were told it usually takes an hour and a half. The drive was long and windy, but our taxi driver was very friendly and open to introducing us to the island. He even stopped at Dennery Lookout so we could take our first tourist photos! Immediately upon arrival, the staff at Windjammer Resort made us feel like relatives returning home from a long journey. We had our guard up at first, but they continued to remind us that we were on vacation and can relax. The receptionist said they were fully booked, but the resort never felt crowded throughout our week’s stay. There were always available reservations for dinner, lounge chairs on the beach, and accessible staff! We originally booked a guest bedroom, but were given a free upgrade to an ocean view one-bedroom villa. The interior decor was very modern and clean. We had an entire private terrace on the third story, a balcony on the second, and another balcony right outside our bedroom on the first. There is a new-guest orientation held every morning where you get one-on-one time with staff to ask any questions you might have regarding the resort. Our first night was a little confusing, as we were unsure of how the all-inclusive package worked with restaurants and bars. Our first night dining would’ve been better if it was custom to ask guests whether it was their first day, instead of assuming so. The food was delicious! Anyone who hasn’t dined at an all-inclusive resort should realize that the quality might not be up to par with a 5-star restaurant in a big city, but for what it is—we were very pleased. There were days where we ordered 3 entrees each because we couldn’t choose! The bartenders were always friendly and inviting. They were always open to whipping up random surprises if you just tell them, “something with mangoes!” There was complimentary water skiing and access to paddle boards, kayaks, and hobie cats. We paid for a hobie cat lesson and spent at least two hours a day sailing along the coast! Denver, our instructor, was incredibly friendly and helpful during our lesson. He made an effort to remember our names throughout the whole week, making us feel like more than just customers. My boyfriend and I purchased an “indulgence spa package” online, but did not realize that it was only meant for one person. The package itself is very ambiguous on the website, and many of the spa staff were unfamiliar with it. I would recommend the rules be made more clear online. Other than that, the staff remained flexible and arranged the package so that both of us could enjoy it (i.e. one person gets a manicure while the other gets a pedicure). Everyone was extremely professional and made us feel like we were truly in paradise. Our two excursions were deep sea fishing and half day sunset cruise through Carnival Sailing. There was a mixup in the deep sea fishing excursion where we ended up on a whale watching boat...having left behind two people who were supposed to be in our place. It took two days to settle out the proper date, but they were professional about the mistake. The excursion starts at 8 am, and the pickup is usually scheduled for 730...but that does not account for the heavy morning traffic that made us late twice. I’d recommend leaving at 7 am from the resort, since the fishing boat leaves on time at 8. The actual excursion was an adventure and we caught a barracuda. The sunset cruise was a blast, definitely a highlight of our trip! The snorkeling portion was amazing and took place in a sectioned off area next to Sugar Beach, right beneath the Pitons. The lunch provided was delicious (wings, finger sandwiches, mini pizza slices) and drinks were complimentary. Of course, it was ended with music and a dance party. I’m not one to consider revisiting a place I’ve already explored, but this is the one resort that has my boyfriend and I dreaming of our next trip. I’d highly recommend it overall!
