This hotel is amazing! From the moment you arrive, the staff take care of you. It is like paradise!!! The upgrade to Casas Ducales is worth paying for as you get so many extras - it then feels like all inclusive!
Arrogant and dismissive. Stay at Gran Melia: classy and welcoming
We thought we would check out an alternative place to stay from our usual hotel, just for a change, and paid for a taxi to take us there to check it out. The door man was extremely rude and when we protested he handed his phone to one of our party who spoke to reception, explaining that we wanted to visit to see if we wanted to stay. The answer was still no with some rationale to do with security and that we needed to make an appointment with marketing. Bahia del duque doesn’t need your business or ours apparently
Beautiful resort for perfect holidays
I am a passionate of hôtels and I had always thought that the day I had come to Tenerife I would stay at Bahia del Duque. To be honest we are not passionate of big hotels or resorts but it’s true that BdD delivers the perfect holiday experience. Once you arrive you are welcome by friendly porters, perfectly dressed in their typical uniforms. Check in was fast and then we were quickly escorted to our room with one of their buggy. The room was very spacious, perfectly appointed. Traditional and modern at same time. Breakfast in the morning was HUGE. Never seen something like that! A lot of food...and always friendly staff. The pools are large. Only one is heated but we could have a quick swim also in the cold one. In February! The beach is just out of the garden gates: 2 mètres and you have your foot in the sand! The beach is managed by the hotel but it’s not included and local people can use it too. The prices are cheap. We used the spa for one day and it was very nice (especially the massage). There is a little charge for it, definitely worth as you have a peaceful and exclusive experience. The service in the resort is always present, not oppressive, very professional and friendly. The night we arrived Tenerife suffered a thunderstorm of sand coming from the Sahara (locals call it Calita) something extraordinarily strong, that impacted all the streets, hotels, gardens. But starting the following morning, all the staff were working hard to fix everything. And they did it very quickly! Since I love hotels, I had a tour in all the five stars property around BdD and, to be honest, no one looked better to me. We were very curious to see the Ritz Carlton Abama so we want there for dinner once. Despite it is very posh and modern, it was like “lost in the middle of nowhere”, with a sense of total isolation. So, we would chose BdD again for its position (walking distance to local bars, restaurants), the beautiful promenade in front of it for a perfect run and, overall, for the relaxed and friendly atmosphere: it will grant you a perfect holiday!
We Will Return
Our First visit to Tenerife and it will not be the last. Very nice hotel and friendly helpful staff. We ate at three or four of their restaurants and were not disappointed with the food. Comfortable room with balcony , spacious bathroom with bath and separate walk in shower . We were able to walk out onto the promenade and go for pleasant walks. As not high season it was not crowded.
Gemma at the kids club is fantastic!
We had a fantastic week here last week (Feb 2020). Special thanks to Gemma at the kids club who was absolutely marvelous with our 4 year old daughter. She came up with so many fun things for the kids to do and our daughter absolutely loved her.
