I loved this place
We stayed 6 nights at coco de mer in room 517. Coco de mer is such a beautiful and relaxing place and even you can see the sunset from this hotel! The staff was also very friendly at each time. I have read that some people are dissatisfied because the beach at the hotel has some seaweed... but the hotel is deffinately not in charge for that!!!
Absolutely stunning hotel!
After arriving on the tiny airport of Praslin, the taxi that we pre- arranged through the internet was already waiting for us. (Laurent's taxi service, SCR 250/EUR 15 to the Coco de Mer) for a quick 15 minute trip to the hotel. Praslin is quite a bit more relaxed than Mahe and we really enjoyed it. The hotel is in a secluded area and has a nice garden. The reception area looked really nice and in pristine condition just like the rest of the hotel. Check-in was very friendly and included cold towel and a drink. Our room was nicely decorated, spacious and clean. We kind of fell in love with the room as there were a few areas to relax and watch the sea. At the start there were some problems with the wifi but after mentioning this issue at the front desk, it was solved right away. We were on half board which we can recommend as there were no other restaurants close to the hotel. The buffet both for breakfast and at night were great with excellent high quality food and a lot of choice that changed every day. We enjoyed that at night it was not the standard hotel buffet food but nice locally inspired dishes. Last but definitely not least were the great people working at the resort. They were genuinely interested in their guests and talking to them was a lot of fun. The Coco de Mer is a great hotel and fully recommended for a wonderful stay at Praslin!
Amzing hospitality and food
During our weekend mini vacation while crusing on praslin we came across the coco de mer hotel. In search for a restaurant to complete our weeekend we decided to have lunch there before taking the ferry back home and it was one of the best decision we have made. The level of service was just wonderful. The hotel feels like home its such a shame we did not choose this place to stay.... our lunch consisted of seychelles queen and a cocktail with the upside down beer.... cause we always go for the signature cocktails...perfect combo of refreshments and alcohol.... our food was just amazing. I am a crab lover and i was so excited when i saw it in the menu... i didnt even checked the other food that was avavailable and i went directly for the crab and i did not regret it one bit. I want to apologies for dirtying your napkins and not using the tools given but this is how you eat crabs in seychelles... lol Special thanks goes to marie paul and harry for their excellence service... its nice to see some creole faces in the hospitality industry with their quality working skills... thank you for the memorable experience of which i will never forget. Keep up the good service.... the industry needs people like you as i also work in the exact industry.
Wonderful family vacation in a tropical paradise
We've just returned from our 10-year anniversary trip to the Seychelles with our two children, and can truly recommend this hotel. Reading on trip advisor it is sometimes hard to say what you should expect based on some of the negative reviews given. For our part, we only have positive things to say about the hotel. The staff Starting with our booking and reservation that went south after Thomas Cook declared bankruptcy, we had to rebook the hotel. This was facilitated by friendly staff (Cynthia) at the booking office and accountants’ dept. Secondly upon arrival receiving welcome drinks and a short brief on the hotel. During our stay the staff was always helpful and friendly and we never met an unfriendly or uninterested employee. The staff also shared a lot and were interesting to talk to. It was extra neat that the hotel kept track of our plans and bookings with excursions, car rentals etc and could remind us of it. The manager was also very friendly, present at breakfast and dinner, walking around asking the guests how they were doing, helping out with smaller or bigger issues. The room We had a standard room with two extra beds for our two children. This worked perfectly. The rooms have comfortable beds, air conditions, fan etc and all the facilities you need for a vacation. Having re-modeled several houses, the nice finish on the tiling and in the bathroom was something that stood out. We have previously in nice hotels noticed that the tiles and grouting is done inaccurately. This was not the fact here. Facilities The pool at the Coco de Mer part was a great success for us with the kids. We tried the gym also. It has some equipment and the hotel is planning to upgrade a lot of the exercise equipment. Apart from that, a run from the hotel can also be recommended as long as you avoid running in the dark. Restaurant The restaurant was one of the big highlights during our stay. If it wasn't for the kids, we would probably still be sitting in the restaurant eating. The breakfast was good and the dinners were amazing. Two of us have a food allergy, but this was accommodated by the restaurant staff in a flawless way by the female chef. We also have to point out the spectacular desserts made by Lasantha. Staying longer would probably have given us diabetes. Location Situated on the west side of the Praslin island approximately 5 kilometer from Grand Anse. Perfect place to relax with a nice private beach, lovely sunsets etc. Quite far from the nearest grocery store and/or restaurant, and we would recommend to book half board if possible. Services Complementary bus to Anse Lazio is a nice treat from the hotel. Also the guided Jean Baptiste trail with Ryan was worth doing. Unfortunately the time did not let us try out the spa, but we'll be back. If we should point out one thing where there is room for improvement, it would have to be the internet connection/speed, but this was also a true blessing “forcing us” to stop checking work e-mails and taking the opportunity to relax. Travelling with children The hotel is definitely welcoming guests with small children, but one should not expect it to be packed with other families with children, after all it’s main audience are newly weds or people on anniversary travels. That being said, we did not once receive any hostility from neither staff nor guests for bringing our kids. Once again, thank you Coco de Mer. Looking forward to see you again.
We had a four night stay here with a room right on the beach. Modern and large room with plenty of seating inside and out. Stunning location with private beaches at either end and a fantastic jetty. Pool area also lovely. Staff very attentive and buffet style dinner and breakfast of a very good quality. Free shuttle to the beach also well worth a visit. There is nothing else nearby to walk to in the way of shops or bars but quite frankly you don’t need it with this location. We would highly recommend.
