Our Slice of Paradise
Coco Der Mer is a secluded slice of paradise on the coast of Praslin in Seychelles and we were lucky enough to find ourselves celebrating our honeymoon amidst the beautiful sunsets and relaxing facilities at the resort. However, it is the staff that are the real stars of this location Ash (Hotel Manager) and his team went out of their way to make our stay a dream vacation. They were always friendly and courteous at every turn. The Spa (discounted special for our honeymoon) was just what we needed and the for our last night the staff set up a special seating under the stars that was nothin short of magical. A beautiful resort, and an amazing experience.
Great family-owned hotel with beautiful private beach
Nice and spacious (maybe a little bit too dark) room with small garden and a great ocean-view. Country specific buffet-dinner and standard breakfast. We expected a little bit more from the promoted "coffee and biscuits" in the afternoon (every day the same). The pool and especially the private beach area were fantastic. If you want to make trips (e.g. national parks or islands) be aware that the roads are quite bumpy and (especially when travelling with small kids) that the taxis and busses do not have baby-seats available. The staff was very nice and helpful and we enjoyed 5 beautiful nights there.
I’ve been there for only one night But so fantastic!!! Great rooms with well “place” mirrors... The buffet diner and breakfast is perfect! The oversea pool for sunset view is amazingly relaxing Great great service
This hotel is simply amazing! We originally booked for 2 nights for my birthday stay but unfortunately had to depart a day earlier to due all the corona virus issues and flights. We were greeted with lovely mocktails and the young man who helped us with our luggage was super sweet. Our room was incredible with direct access to beach and they had put fresh flowers all around. Loved the food and the welcoming service. Its great that the food isnt ridiculously overpriced for a hotel of this calibre, and although we only had 1 breakfast and dinner here, we found it delicious. The free water refills is great too and helps reduce plastic. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to make use of the free SUP and kayaking, but the afternoon tea is a fab touch. Best of all was Mr Ash. He was an absolute star and promptly arranged our change of flights for us for the same day and rearranged our ferry back to the airport too. We are so gutted that we only stayed for 1night at this hotel but cannot thank the staff and Mr Ash enough for their amazing hospitality, compassion and professionalism during such a scary time across the world. We're safely back home in time, thank you Mr Ash! -Room 52
Having just recently returned from a great week, we can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Friendly, professional staff, great rooms and amazing views. This small, privately owned, resort is spread over a huge acreage, always giving you the feel of plenty of room and space. The staff have a genuine pride in working here and a special thanks to Rosemeree, Ajay ❤️, Henry and Nadia for looking after us so well. Rooms - we went for a beach front Superior room which was definitely worth the upgrade. Spacious, direct access to the beach and your own terrace even with a clothes dryer! Next time we might go for a Black Parrot Suite purely for the adult only pool, but then you won’t get the direct beach access. Restaurants- good and the drinks very reasonably priced. We went breakfast only which worked well for us as we could switch between the Hibiscus Restaurant, buffet, and the Mango Tree, more adult only in the evening, and serves excellent grilled fish dishes, beware though, large portions! The Fish Trio is a must. Henry at the bar makes the best Espresso Martini in the Seychelles. A lot of people came in for lunch from outside the hotel at the Mango Tree, great salads, sandwiches, burgers etc. you can understand why. Breakfast choice at Hibiscus was incredible, although sometimes as in the evening, slow to replenish empty dishes. The deck area with swimming pool is totally unique and a great place to watch the sunset and snorkel, as well as lots of hammocks dotted around the beach areas. Free paddle boarding and kayaks available. Great little touches including a water station area where you can refill your water bottles, at last a hotel doing something to get rid of the dreaded blue plastic! And free afternoon tea served by the pool everyday between 4-5pm. Do hire a car for the day while your there, only 50 euros and you can easily see the whole island in a day. Also gives you the chance to visit Les Rocheurs Restaurant lunch which-is literally next door, although not cheap but well worth it. Just heaven, we will definitely be back!
