Bungalow dotted tropical gardens, a beach of dreams and a chilled atmosphere: this is an authentically Seychellois paradise found.
When paradise is in the name, a hotel needs to deliver, and this tucked-away bolt hole certainly does. We love the low-key yet typically Creole vibes – thatched roofs, shady palms and exposed brick details – but the star of the show is the setting. The soft coral, 2-mile-long Côte d'Or (Anse Volbert) invites you to throw off your shoes for the foreseeable, and take a deep, calming breath. You’ll be right at the western end of the beach, so there’ll be little passing foot traffic, and it stretches out in front of you on those sunrise and sunset strolls. The food is fresh and local, the spa is perfectly set for stress-busting moments, and the activities plentiful enough to keep the day to day memorable.

Rooms
There are 26 Creole style bungalows scattered around the tropical gardens, playing host to 80 perfectly formed rooms. They have huge windows that open up completely, giving an indoors-outdoors feel and a breezy vibe. They have exposed brick walls, loft ceilings, mid-tone wooden furnishings and incredibly inviting double beds as well as a covered deck that leads down onto the gardens. The en suite bathrooms have a free-standing bathtub for lazy soaks, alongside a shower.
Located in one-storey Creole-style buildings in the resort’s gardens, these rooms have garden and partial sea views.

Facilities
It’s all about beachfront and poolside dining here. It all begins at De Sesel, the dedicated breakfast venue. You’ll be sitting down to bread made in house, eggs any which way, tropical fruit that you just know is going to be some of the best you’ve tasted, and all the cooked and continental favourites. Then it moves to lunch overlooking the sand at St Pierre Beach Restaurant with island-inspired dishes as well as pizzas, salads and Creole curries. If you don’t want to shift from your day bed, the food can be brought straight to you. Absolute bliss. A we think they’ve saved the best for the last meal of the day: an ever-changing buffet of dishes from around the Seychelles and the world made fresh in live kitchens with the auditory backdrop of local bands.
Deep in the fifty shades of green gardens is the spa, a tranquil hideaway where therapists trained in the Balinese style are ready and waiting. It’s all about absolute relaxation in the way of massages, be they signature, Balinese or hot stone. There’s a couple of single treatment rooms and one couple’s room where you can relax post-treatment with a ginger tea and outdoor shower.
The Indian Ocean is your natural playground during your time at Paradise Sun. Not only is there a PADI dive centre right on the doorstep, but there are also kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and canoes to use which you can pick up from the Beach Clubhouse. The hotel sits on a sheltered bay making it a calm experience for first timers. Don’t forget a waterproof case for your phone as you’ll be able to capture some of the most epic (and envy inducing) pictures. You can also grab some snorkelling equipment which is free to borrow – one of the island’s best snorkelling spots is right out the front of the hotel.
Families are made wonderfully welcome here. There’s no kids’ club but this is the kind of place you’ll want to spend together whether it’s playing in the sand and splashing in the kids’ pool, learning new skills in cooking demos and coconut leaf weaving sessions, and messing about on the water. Baby sitting is available for those moments you want to slip away to a restaurant in the local town or hot foot it to the spa.
