Hawai’i’s regularly sunny skies, short and sharp showers, and clean-as-it-can-be air create the best conditions going for those sweeping (often double or circular) arcs of colour. The vivid hues of Maui’s rainbow eucalyptus trees, the 50-shades-of-green rainforests, sands that go beyond the standard golden, and most importantly, a vibrant heritage passed through countless generations only add to the colour palette of life in Hawai’i. For us as visitors to this sacred land, it’s about exploring the islands with mālama (care), being low key and local, and treating the landscape, heritage and people with respect. We’ve created a holiday to O’ahu and Kaua’i that inspires you to take on a slower pace and connect with communities and the landscapes they call home. We’ve set aside four nights on each island, but this is all about taking it easy so idling on either island (or both) a little longer is heartily encouraged.

Spend a few days exploring Cape Town before sipping your way through the Winelands. Finish your journey with an exhilarating safari, seeking out the Big Five in Greater Kruger National Park. This classic city and beach combination is the answer to why Thailand is one of our most popular Far East destinations. With so much variety on offer, a visit to the Seychelles is certainly not a case of once you’ve seen one island, you’ve seen them all. For an ultraluxe, twin-island experience we highly recommend staying at the Constance sister properties: Constance Ephelia on Mahé, which overlooks a pristine marine park, and the idyllic hideaway, Constance Lemuria on Pralin’s west coast.

Mahe is home to Victoria, the country’s bustling capital and a host of smaller towns and villages, while mist-cloaked Silhouette is almost untouched. The only signs of human habitation on this protected island are the small village of La Passe and the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa.

One country, two islands two miles apart, a duo of island vibes. We can’t think of a smarter way to explore St Kitts & Nevis than completing the pair. This is a holiday for the history buffs, the nature lovers and the Caribbean completists looking for something a little different.

Stay a few days in Kuala Lumpur to discover the cosmopolitan capital's famous skyscrapers, idyllic parklands and incredible street food scene. Then head to the majestic Borneo for some rain forest explorations, rest, relaxation and stunning landscapes.

We always recommend a twin centre holiday in Bali so that you really get to experience the very best of the island. The beautiful interior is not to be missed and a few days here amongst the rural landscapes, paddy fields and the cultural hotstpot that is Ubud is definitely a highlight. There are a few beach destinations to combine with Ubud, but here we've opted to twin with a southeast coast resort, making this a great combination for a restorative holiday chilling on the beach or a bit of an adrenaline rush with some watersports.

Bali is Indonesia's 'Island of the Gods' and it's aptly named - this is a land of stunning natural beauty and friendly people who are proud of their ancient traditions and spirituality. You'll find the beach resorts that Bali is best known for on its southern shores, but there's so much more to Bali than its coastline. Venture inland, amid the lush rice terraces and dramatic valleys and you can cycle through rice terraces, go temple-hopping and take time out at wellbeing retreats. To really make the most of your stay on the island, we recommend at least 10 days and combining two or three places to stay as you travel around the island. During that time relax on the beach in the south or in the north (the north tends slightly wilder in feel and a bit more off the beaten track). For the more active, an early morning trek to see the sunrise from the top of Mount Batur is not to be missed, but other things to do to give you a sense of the culture of Bali include cooking classes, exploring local temples, shopping for local crafts and sampling local spa treatments that feature at most hotels.

If you’re travelling all the way to the South Pacific, you want the miles to feel worth it, and French Polynesia absolutely rises to the promise of something unforgettable. On this holiday, we suggest breaking things up with a couple of well-placed stopovers, so the whole trip flows beautifully, stopping at LA en route to a classic pairing of Moorea and Bora Bora. Moorea gives you space to settle into island life, with lush mountains, quiet villages, and easy-to-explore coastlines. Bora Bora then delivers the moment you’ve pictured from the start: an overwater villa above a turquoise lagoon and the sense of being somewhere utterly extraordinary.

There’s plenty to pack into a few days in Bangkok, from a cruise down the Chao Phraya River to exploring Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. The food scene here is incredible, so a night market tour or cooking class is a must. Phuket is Thailand’s ultimate beach resort playground – an emerald island of golden sands and neon-lit night-time revelry. It’s also the gateway to the Andaman Sea, where colourful long-tail boats bob in the sunshine and towering limestone karsts rise out of the water.

Some arrive daunted by its chaos, but most leave thrilled by its vibrancy, tradition and culture – it's the classic city and beach combo where you can stay among skyscrapers before relaxing on the golden sands. And of the beaches, Hua Hin is more accessible than some as it's on the north-western shores of the Gulf of Thailand, around three hours by road from Bangkok.

There's three sides to this Thailand tale: two city stays and some beach bliss on a sun-kissed isle. Following a few frenetic days in Bangkok eating, temple hopping and market exploring, head north to Chiang Mai a sacred city surrounded by rolling hills. Then it's time to do tone down the adventure and just chill on Koh Samui's sandy shores.

Chase waterfalls in a national park or nest on a secluded beach on this three-stop trip. Start your holiday in Khao Lak before heading onto the jungle to witness gentle giants and embrace adventure and then retreating to Krabi's stunning shores.
