Fairmont San Francisco

The golden age of luxury

If heart throbs were hotels, Fairmont San Francisco would be one of them. With regal looks, historic spirit and unrivalled Bay and city views, this is the go-to for a sophisticated stay.

Proud as a peacock ruffling its feathers, Fairmont San Francisco sits atop affluent Nob Hill and is all top-notch service and wow factor views. Eagerly embraced by the stylish crowd and many a US president, its moniker is The White House of the West. Between alabaster walls and Corinthian columns there’s plenty of design wizardry going on. Where will your favourite spot be? The Narnia style garden with its twinkling lights and panoramic skyline views, Laurel Court’s duck egg blue restaurant begging for high teas and glam dinners or the kitsch but ever so popular South Pacific themed Hurricane Bar? 30 minutes downhill one way and you’ll get to Fisherman’s Wharf and 10 minutes the other you’ll be at Union Square.

Why we love Fairmont San Francisco

  • If you don’t want to break a sweat, the cable car will pick you up right outside the hotel

  • Gather around the lagoon at the heart of the tropically-themed Tonga Restaurant for tiki-inspired cocktails and live music

  • To help preserve bees, the hotel has installed hives amongst the hotel's rooftop herb garden

  • If you don't have time to visit Sonoma or the Napa Valley wineries, you can meet the sommeliers in the hotel's private tasting room
