Recommended itinerary
Days 1-3
Ubud
Welcome to Bali’s cultural heart. Ubud’s lush rice terraces, jungle valleys, and sacred temples set the stage for your journey. Spend mornings wandering through vibrant markets and afternoons in peaceful spas or exploring monkey forests and waterfalls. Yoga, cooking classes, and traditional dance performances keep you as active or as laid-back as you like. A scenic drive of around 90 minutes takes you to your next stop.
Days 4-6
Candidasa
Shift gears to Bali’s quieter eastern coast. Candidasa offers a relaxed seaside escape with a touch of old-school charm. After Ubud’s energy, Candidasa feels like a long exhale. It’s an easy base for snorkelling trips, island-hopping boat rides, and excursions to nearby temples and water palaces. Evenings are all about oceanfront dining and star-filled skies, while the pace is unhurried and soothing. When it’s time to move on, a speedboat ride of about two hours whisks you across the waves to your next adventure.
Days 7-9
Gili Trawangan
Now it’s time to trade Bali for the Gilis. After a boat ride delivers you to Gili Trawangan, you’ll set foot on an island with no cars and plenty of charm. Days here are spent snorkelling with turtles, cycling along sandy paths, and lazing under palms with a cocktail in hand.
Days 10-13
Lombok
Round off your adventure with four nights on Lombok. Less travelled than Bali but every bit as beautiful, Lombok has rugged mountains and sweeping beaches, and it’s the perfect grand finale to your Indonesian journey. From Gili Trawangan, it’s only a short thirty-minute boat hop to Lombok, so you’ll step ashore ready to dive straight in. Whether you’re trekking to waterfalls, surfing in the south, or stretching out on powdery sands, it’s a place that rewards exploration and relaxation in equal measure.
