Extend your holiday

After your indepth tour of the Indochina cities, perhaps some quality beach time is deserved.

Days 1 to 3

Luang Prabang

Start your Indochina journey immersing into Laos’ former capital, Luang Prabang. On your first full day, perhaps visit temples and a palace before ascending Phousi Hill for city views at sunset. The second day has time for a tuk-tuk ride and boat trip to limestone caverns.

Days 4 & 5

Hanoi

Next stop is Hanoi, the perfect scene-setter for the Vietnamese adventures that lie ahead. You’ll arrive in the capital of Vietnam and head to your chosen hotel. Step out onto the busy streets where the calmness of t'ai chi at dawn collides with the cacophony of daily life. At every turn, there’s an aromatic food stall, a colourful building, or an ancient monument to catch your eye.

Day 6

Halong Bay

It would be remiss to visit this part of the world and not see the beautiful Halong Bay so swap the city for serenity on an overnight cruise. You’ll be collected from Hanoi for the four-hour drive to Halong Bay to board the elegant Au Co Cruise Ship, where you’ll spend a night onboard. Boarding a traditional-style junk and taking an overnight cruise makes sure you see the best of it. There’s the chance to kayak through caves and find a quiet patch on a private beach, too.

Day 7

Hanoi

After disembarking your cruise, you’ll return to Hanoi and spend another night here, perhaps opting to explore the Old Quarter and its historic buildings or maybe you’ll search out the 11th-century One Pillar Pagoda.

Days 8 to 10

Hoi An

A short flight to Danang and onto Hoi An where some of the city’s highlights are within walking distance of your hotel. Visit a traditional Vietnamese house or take a boat trip along the Thu Bon River for a different perspective of the city.

Days 11 to 13

Siem Reap

Transfer to Danang airport where you'll take a short flight to Siem Reap to spend three nights, plenty of time to explore the temples of Angkor Wat.

Days 14 to 15

Phnom Penh

Welcome to Cambodia's capital where you’ll spend two nights. You’re perfectly placed for exploring the city’s famous pagoda, but be sure to stroll a little further to shop for handicrafts in the markets and admire the faded grandeur of the French Quarter.

Days 16 to 19

Mekong Cruise

Set sail on 4-night cruise onboard the Mekong Navigator Lotus Cruise.

Days 20 & 21

Ho Chi Minh City

Next is Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, where you’ll stay for two nights — just enough time to scratch the surface of this bustling metropolis, that’s deservedly famous for its intriguing history, vibrant culture, and delicious street food. Your centrally situated hotel means Ben Thanh Market and the War Remnants Museum are within walking distance.
