 Affordable Mauritius Explorer

A two-stop Mauritius hopper without the five-star price tag.

Mauritius is a clever choice when you want Indian Ocean beaches, high hotel standards, and plenty of character, but not the cost of a top-end resort. This eight-night trip pairs two adults-only, all-inclusive Attitude hotels, part of a Mauritian hotel group known for bringing more local flavour into the stay. Think Creole-inspired food, island crafts, community-led experiences, and a style that feels relaxed and beachy. You begin near Belle Mare on the east coast, where long pale sands and quiet days help you settle in, then move up to the north coast lagoon for more choice, more to do, and access to Grand Baie when you’re ready to venture outside your resort bubble.

Days 1-3

East Coast Mauritius

The east coast is a lovely place to start in Mauritius, with Belle Mare giving you one of the island’s most beautiful stretches of beach. It suits the first few days of the trip because you can keep plans light while you get your bearings. Compared with the north and west, this side of the island can feel quieter and breezier, which works well when you want to arrive and decompress. The adults-only Sunrise Attitude is a good fit for this opening stay because it’s full of easy Mauritian touches that set the scene perfectly. It sits just across the road from Belle Mare beach, with pools, a spa, creative workshops, local food experiences, and a laid-back all-inclusive set-up. We suggest the Couple Room because it keeps your budget in check while still providing a fresh, comfortable base. Talk to us if you prefer a quieter position, more outdoor space or a swim-up room that feels a little more special. Small upgrades can make a noticeable difference without pushing the whole trip into luxury-resort budget territory.

Days 4-8

North Coast Mauritius

The north coast adds more variety to the second half of the trip. Around Anse la Raie, the island opens onto a wide lagoon, with big skies and views towards the northern islets. Grand Baie is close enough for shops, restaurants and a livelier evening if you want it, but you’re not staying right in the middle of it. Lagoon Attitude is adults-only and all-inclusive, with a choice of restaurants and bars, a spa, pools, watersports, and a marine discovery centre that helps explain the lagoon environment around you. Like Sunrise, it has Attitude’s more local way of doing things, so you’ll find Mauritian flavours, music, and crafts woven through the hotel rather than bolted on as a theme. We suggest a Couple Room to keep the overall holiday affordable, but this is also the place to talk to us about upgrade options. A sea-view or swim-up room can be a real treat at the end of the trip while still keeping the itinerary firmly in good-value Mauritius territory.
