An ultra-modern beach retreat packed with restaurants, fun-focused facilities and an east-meets-west spa
No metaphorical stone went unturned during the conception of this all-in, all-singing, all-dancing but ultra luxe Belek resort. Everything you could possibly need lies within its 42 acres; you can tee off, dip, slip and slide, dine around the world, see a show and embrace muscle-soothing treatments without stepping foot outside its limits. It’s hard to pick just one stand-out selling point, but the 800-metre-long beach has got to be up there. It’s been awarded Blue Flag status and is home to a couple of piers made from stunning Iroko wood, as well as a few private cabanas that are available to rent; the ones on the pier are our top pick as they feature a ladder into the sea.
Why we love Cullinan Belek
-
Europe’s best always has a good ring to it; in the case of Cullinan Belek, it’s the title of Europe’s Best Luxury All Inclusive Resort, as awarded by the 2024 World Travel Awards
-
The waterpark is a favourite with young and young-at-heart guests thanks to its 13 slides that are split between sedate kids slides and more thrilling ones for adults; it’s heated through the winter too
-
On a week’s holiday, you wouldn’t need to dine at the same place twice; aside from the all-encompassing main restaurant, there are à la carte venues serving up dishes from around the globe
-
The variety of accommodation is extensive but the main choice to make is the view you’d like, whether you want a swim-up pool or a family room (or a combo) or if you want to go all out with a villa
Rooms
The 544 rooms, suites and villas here are simply stunning with a contemporary vibe, statement botanical murals behind the bed or in the cosy living area if they feature one and smart technology. Some have views of the golf course, whilst others overlook the lagoon, but our favourites have to be those which have swim-up pools that can be accessed directly from the terrace. For families or groups of friends, there are the Exclusive and Cullinan Villas, both of which have a private pool, come complete with butler service and have an in-villa Playstation for those chilled out times you want to tuck yourselves away for a bit.
Facilities
The Cullinan’s roster of restaurants ticks off cuisines from across Europe and Asia, as well as satisfying a range of diets. The Mare Main Restaurant covers most bases at breakfast, lunch and dinner, as does the Upupa Kids’ Restaurant which is located within the kids’ club. Food is always accessible at the Cullinan Bistro, especially important if you’re an early bird or a late-night snacker. For a special occasion, or just because, reserve a spot at one of the à la carte speciality restaurants. One of the resort’s real hot spots is the striking Galapagos Beach Club, a laid-back venue by day but a lively club by night.

The C’ESPACE Spa is an oasis of tranquillity, wellness and indulgence. There’s an inside/outdoor swimming pool and a Turkish hammam (which should come as no surprise) alongside saunas, a shock pool and vitamin bar. Treatments range from classic massages inspired by Asian and European practices, peels and hammam rituals, ayurvedic therapies and a unique foam massage.
Pools are plentiful at Cullinan Belek – they’re found indoors and outdoors (in one case both in and out), there’s a kids’ pool, a pool by the beach, swim-up pools and private pools attached to the villas if you fancy the upgrade. The Aquapark is where kids and thrill-seeking grown-ups can speed down slides (four for younger guests and nine for adults) and youngsters can splash around in the shallows.
Cullinan Belek was made for sun-soaked family holidays and there’s plenty to fill your days. Days together can be spent at the Aquapark, on the beach or by one of the resort’s many pools. Upupa is an extensive club for children between four and 12 years old (with rooms for different age groups) that’s open from 10am until late and is supervised by a trained team of child carers. There’s a restaurant on site as well as an outdoor activity area, amphitheatre for kids’ shows, and a cinema hall; there are also a number of guided workshops so they can learn a skill or two while having all that fun. There’s a separate area for teenagers with a Playstation room, cinema screen soft drink and mocktail bar and age-related activities.
Accommodation comes in various guises: as the name suggests, the Family Rooms which are made up of a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a living room with a couple of sofa beds. The villas give you more space and a few luxe added extras such as butler service, a private pool and a Playstation in your villa and a reserved cabana on the beach or pier during the summer season. You can also dine at the à la carte restaurants on a complimentary basis.
The Cullinan’s golf course is set between the sea and the river and has the Taurus mountains as a distant backdrop. There are 36 holes to make your way around, and there are even night lights so you can try playing golf after dark.
