Day 1

London

You will be welcomed aboard the classic Belmond British Pullman train at London Victoria station and commence your journey with a departure to Folkestone. Relax and enjoy brunch as you travel through the Kent countryside before transferring by coach to board the Eurotunnel shuttle for the short crossing to France and on to Calais Ville. Here the wonderful Wagon-Lit Carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train await. After dinner, enjoy listening to the resident pianist before retiring to your private cabin. Day 2

Venice

By morning you will have crossed the border into Switzerland and you’ll wake to stunning alpine scenery, the perfect backdrop to accompany your continental breakfast. Speed through the lovely Austrian countryside and enjoy lunch. Later, take afternoon tea as you travel through the beautiful Gotthard Pass at the border of Italy and Austria and then traverse the mighty Italian Dolomites. There’ll be a brief stop at the attractive riverside city of Verona before arriving in Venice in the early evening. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay. Spend the day exploring Venice, one of the world’s few truly unique cities. Take a romantic ride on a gondola through narrow canal streets, gliding past ornate bridges and architecture that spans centuries. The heart of Venice is found in the San Marco sestiere which is home to the famous Renaissance-style St Mark’s Square, a great spot for people-watching.
