A cute clocktower marks the Coast Sundance Lodge and the centre of Sun Peaks Resort village. This easy-going accommodation is simple in style but has everything you need at the beginning and end of active days of wintertime skiing or summertime biking.

Coast Sundance Lodge is an excellent option if you’re willing to forgo a bit of style for a killer location in Sun Peaks. This ski-in, ski-out hotel is well-positioned to access Sun Peak’s 130-odd trails with the main ski lifts steps from the hotel. It’s not only about location. The restaurant and two cafes are handy facilities to carb-load ahead of a day on the slopes or to re-fuel when the chair lift has made its last journey of the afternoon. There’s a place to store skis (and bikes in the summer), plus an outdoor hot tub with views of the mountain. Desperate to get moving before the slopes open? The fitness centre stands ready. Sure, the rooms are a little simplistic. But that’s not to say they’re not cosy. The whole hotel has a warming ambience to it, helped along by the firelit lobby. Some of the rooms have fireplaces of their own, and balconies for a personal slice of those sublime mountain views.
