Dubai & Abu Dhabi Family Experience

A week-long UAE family holiday split between Dubai and Abu Dhabi that the kids and grown ups will love.

This is the UAE for families who don’t want to choose between a wow-factor city break and a proper beach holiday. Begin at Atlantis The Palm, where a day can involve racing down water slides, spotting sharks, bowling at Wavehouse, and still making it back to the beach before sunset. Then head to Abu Dhabi for pale sand, pool days, and easy access to the Emirates’ family attractions. We know these hotels work because the children get their own brilliant holiday at both, while adults have excellent restaurants and beach time.

Days 1-3

Dubai

Atlantis, The Palm is a dazzling opening act. Aquaventure Waterpark is right on your doorstep, with huge slides for the brave, splash zones for younger guests and enough water-based chaos to justify a dedicated day or two. The Lost Chambers Aquarium adds sharks, rays, and glass tunnels, while Explorers Club gives four to 12-year-olds their own programme when parents are eyeing a quiet hour by the pool. Beyond the hotel, you’ll see Dubai properly on a city tour, from abra boats on Dubai Creek to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, then head into the desert for dune bashing, sunset views, and a barbecue dinner. We’ve chosen Atlantis first because it’s the place to go big, while everyone still has maximum energy.

Sand Dunes and Sunsets: Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner
Dubai

An action-packed desert safari that will take you from the sand dunes to a traditional Arabic camp, this half-day tour packs plenty in. Immerse yourself in authentic Arabic culture with henna painting and belly dancing, and wrap your tastebuds around moreish native sweets and coffee. You’ll wind down at the foot of a gleaming golden sunset, before tucking into a delicious barbecue dinner beneath the stars. With live entertainment thrown in for good measure, you’ll also get another chance to sample some more traditional Arabic treats.

Days 4-8

Abu Dhabi

After an all-action start, Saadiyat Rotana gives you the beach reset without making the kids feel that the fun bit is over. There’s a long stretch of white sand, pools made for long afternoons, and Aladdin’s Cave, a seriously good kids’ club with a splash pool, lazy river, water slide, cinema, and separate areas for smaller children and teens. Then there’s Yas Island, an exciting hub of indoor (and so blissfully air-conditioned) theme parks, including Warner Bros. World, Yas Waterworld, Ferrari World, and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. Saadiyat gives the week a different kind of excitement, with enough beach time to recharge between the big days out and a family set-up that means everybody has plenty to look forward to.

Discover Abu Dhabi (from Abu Dhabi)
Abu Dhabi

Prepare to be amazed by Abu Dhabi’s ever-evolving landscape and immerse yourself in the unique magic of the UAE’s capital city. A chance to experience all of its charms, you’ll venture to the largest mosque, before whetting your appetite with a mixture of fresh and dried fruits at the Dates market. And if you’re hoping to pick up some memorable souvenirs, Heritage Village will leave you spoiled for choice with its treasure trove of mementos.
