My husband and I stayed at the Almyra to celebrate our first wedding anniversary after our honeymoon was cancelled due to covid. We booked fairly last minute so got a basic room at the time of booking but Laura was so helpful helping us to upgrade our room on arrival and we ended up with an amazing room with views across the sea and along to the harbour. It’s perfectly located on the sea, just a short walk into the harbour for restaurants and shops. There was always plenty of choice at the buffets for breakfast & dinner on the days we chose to dine there. The hotel was always clean and staff friendly. We both enjoyed treatments at the spa, my husband had the hot stone massage and I had a facial, lovely and relaxing and again the staff all friendly! There are several pools but as a couple we tended to stick to the adults only pool by the spa. Sunbeds were comfy and bar staff always attentive......one of the largest strawberry daiquiris I’ve had anywhere! We had an amazing stay at the Almyra and wish we had booked s linger stay, we will definitely be back!
Delightful for late summer break.
Arriving in late September we stayed in one of the sea view rooms: lovely view, clean and comfortable. The hotel is light and airy, with a premium feel throughout. The spa offers plenty of treatments and the gym is well stocked for a hotel-gym, more than enough to work off the plentiful meals. Both the reception team and the poolside attendants were always friendly and helpful, the service at the restaurants was often quite slow - though that was mainly due to covid-19 restrictions limiting the number of staff they could have on any one shift. In short - great looking hotel run by friendly people with nice food.
Simply put, the Almyra is in my opinion the best hotel in Cyprus. I would never holiday anywhere else on the island, and to be honest, it is my all time favourite destination. Having visited 13 years straight, this year I was devastated to not return. Why you might ask? Where to start! Firstly the staff are exceptional. From the moment you walk into the cool fragrant lobby, you feel enveloped in the warmth and care of the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble and your worries evaporate at check-in. Whilst you are waiting to go to your room you can also enjoy a wonderful cocktail prepared by Dragos in the lobby bar. His cocktail making skills are worth the trip alone. The rooms are light, cool, immaculate and in keeping with the essence of the hotel, boutique chic. There are several pools to lay by, including an adult only one at the luxurious spa. Wherever you choose to while away the day, you can hear and see and feel the sea - and as the sun goes down you are treated to the most marvellous sunset over the castle turrets. The food is exceptional - breakfast, lunch and dinner, with several dining experiences to choose from. Walking distance to the harbour, there is plenty to occupy you outside the hotel if you prefer, and Pafos Watersports are directly in front of the hotel providing you with all your thrill seeking water activities. Whether you are getting married, on your honeymoon, want a romantic stay, or have all your children in toe, the Almyra has all you need.
In October, I attended a lovely event at the Almyra Hotel. A Garage and Table Top Sale with all profits going to a local charity ❤️. Almyra reception staff very warmly welcomed me and I was accompanied to the event which was held in the beautiful gardens of this stunning hotel. Everyone adhered to COVID-19 regulations and I felt very safe. I bought some great bargains and it was sooo helpful to be able to try on items in one of the Almyra Garden Rooms. What an ideal opportunity to view the very classy hotel accommodation! The Almyra should indeed pride itself in how it supports the local Paphos community. Top Marks all round!
Nowhere near a 5 star experience - more like 3 star
I simply cannot believe the other reviews I am reading here! This is nowhere near a 5 star hotel by UK standards - probably 3 star. This is classified as a Luxury Hotel. IT IS NOT. The Good A fairly nice location, next to the sea in an area good for swimming A watersports concession right in front Pretty cheap Available at the very last minute (only booked because quarantine rules resulted in us cancelling our trip to Verdura in Sicily) The promenade in front where one could walk or run Had decentish meals in the Greek Taverna and the Asian fusion Had a couple of goodish spa treatments Close to the airport The Bad Ugly hotel and surrounds Such ugly common areas Small and dingy rooms No charm Very functional pool areas Inexperienced, frequently uncharming, sometimes smelly, young and struggling staff - clearly not used to the suddenly expended occupancy levels arising from Cyprus' new found popularity! Pafos is ugly and there is nothing charming about the town or the people Cypriots seem very work shy Lots of British expats of the sort you would prefer not to spend too much time with Poor kids club and activities I only went here out of a lack of choice and desperation to get some sun! I would not normally ever have considered a holiday in Cyprus - and now I know why!
