There are lots of exclusive bookable extras such as renting a vintage VW Beetle, hopping aboard a Sports Cruiser or trying out underwater scooters in the shallows of Boca Catalina Bay.

All of the 104 rooms and suites are enticing with their signature headboards, light linens and dark furnishings. Standard and Superior Rooms have garden views and Deluxe Rooms have ocean views. All feature a balcony or terrace, an air purifier, a ceiling fan, a Smart TV that mirrors your own devices and Aloe toiletries freshly made in Aruba. For a larger space you might want to consider a Junior Suite with a separate living room and a double balcony with ocean views, whilst romantics will love the Bungalow Suites set in their own building between the beach and the pool. It’s worth noting that the resort doesn’t offer room service and that the lowest air conditioning setting is 20°.

With ocean views to die for, it’s no wonder Elements restaurant has been voted one of the top ten restaurants in the Caribbean. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus feature locally grown produce, sustainable seafood and vegan choices. The Dine-Around plan gives you the freedom to try local independent restaurants with a hotel voucher, including Italian trattoria Lucca, classic French Papillon and open-flame dining at Texas de Brazil. Day to evening, the resort’s open-air beach bar dishes out snacks, smoothies, mocktails and cocktails with live music in the evenings.

Elements Restaurant

Bucuti & Tara Resort is a great place to come and reboot and recharge. Not only is there an ultramodern fitness centre and complimentary morning yoga, Pilates and ta-chi, but also a first-class team of experts offering beach bootcamp, personal training, SUP yoga and sound healing. Kick off your shoes and try something new too, whether it’s the Pilates Reformer, anti-gravity yoga sessions or meditation classes taken in floating hammocks. The spa’s two small treatment rooms and beachfront outdoor cabanas come with a menu of island-inspired therapies designed to soothe and spoil.

Bucuti & Tara Resort has been making a positive impact on the planet since first opening in 1987 and is the first resort in the world to receive a perfect 100% score from the Green Globe body of certification. It has achieved Travelife Gold and LEED Gold status and is the only CarbonNeutral® certified hotel in Aruba. The resort is big on solar panelling and recycling and has lots of innovative initiatives in place such as laundry bags made out of old sheets and gym towels crafted from old beach towels. You won’t find any single-use plastic here and you’ll be gifted a reusable water bottle on arrival, with refilling stations on site. Food is locally sourced, leftovers are given to independent farmers and the hotel supports Aruba’s Donkey Sanctuary and giant sea turtle foundation.
