Day 1

Arrival in Chobe National Park

Take off in a small plane from Maun today to reach Chobe National Park, home of Africa’s largest elephant population. Get a birds-eye view of its sprawling grasslands and wildlife before touching down at your home for the next two nights: Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge. Head out on an afternoon game drive, take a dip in the pool or wildlife-watch from the hide – the Savute area is famous for its prides of lion, which can often be spotted from the lodge. Overnight at Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge.

Day 2

Chobe National Park

Venture into the park on a game drive this morning and keep your eyes peeled for lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, hyenas and giraffes, as well as the real stars: the elephants. Embark on another game drive in the afternoon or visit the San Bushmen paintings, thought to be more than 1,500 years old. Alternatively, grab the binoculars for some bird watching – more than 250 species reside here from December to March. In the evening, enjoy an out-of-this-world dining experience featuring signature African dishes paired with fine wines. Overnight at Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge.

Day 3

Chobe National Park & Okavango Delta

Take to the skies from the camp’s airstrip this morning as you make a beeline for the Okavango Delta, taking in its glittering network of lagoons, channels and islands from above. Your destination is Belmond Eagle Island lodge, set on its own private island with just 12 tented rooms – each with their own plunge pool. Head out on a mokoro trip in a traditional dugout canoe, venture off on a motorboat cruise or see the river bathed in red on a sunset barge trip. Guided walking safaris and fishing excursions are also available and the lodge is another hotspot for bird watching. Overnight at Belmond Eagle Island Lodge.

Day 4

Okavango Delta

Continue the water adventures today or take it up a notch with a horseback and heli safari that will have you flying over the delta before saddling up for a horse ride. Expect to see wild dogs, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos as you plod your way through the delta. Alternatively, join an excursion to the nearby village of Nxhoga. Here you’ll get to meet some of the elders and browse the market while learning about local trades including basket-weaving, hut-building and fishing. Overnight at Belmond Eagle Island Lodge.

Day 5

Okavango Delta & Cape Town

Wave goodbye to Botswana this morning as you fly to Maun for your next adventure: Cape Town. On arrival, transfer to Belmond Mount Nelson Cape Town, one of Belmond’s most famous properties, set in the shadows of Table Mountain. Unwind by the pool, visit the spa or head into the city. Overnight at Belmond Mount Nelson Cape Town.

Day 6

Cape Town

Spend the next couple of days exploring the best of this captivating city – a melting pot of cultures where world-class restaurants and wineries meet galleries, beaches and a slew of historic sights. Choose from a wealth of local optional experiences, like the My Cape Town City Tour or don retro leather jackets, goggles, bandanas and helmets to whizz along the Cape Peninsula in a 1950’s sidecar. Overnight at Belmond Mount Nelson Cape Town.

Sidecar tour of the city

Cape Town

Experience a tour of Cape Town like no other – in the sidecar of a decommissioned military bike. Strap in for this mid-peninsula 3-hour ride along the wondrous landscape of the Chapman's Peak Drive via the Atlantic Seaboard, where you'll pass by the scenic sights of Camps Bay, Hout Bay and the Constantia Winelands in this unique adventure.

Suitable for all ages, there are also longer sidecar tours available with the option to tailor-make your own two, four or eight-hour routes.

Day 7

Cape Town

It’s the penultimate day of your tour today, so head back into the city, relax at the hotel or choose from one of several optional excursions, including the My Cape Peninsula Tour. You’ll visit spectacular Cape Point and ride the Flying Dutchman Funicular, as well as experiencing the impressive Chapman's Peak Drive. Kayaking with penguins at Boulders beach or a fish and chips lunch at Hout Bay's Seal Island are further options on this tour. Overnight at Belmond Mount Nelson Cape Town.

Day 8

Cape Town & Departure

It’s time to bid farewell to Cape Town this morning as you transfer to the airport for your flight home or onward travel.
