Disappointment

Just arrived back from a 2 night getaway at the Thanda Safari Lodge. I suppose I am supposed to rave about my stay at a supposedly 5-star location. Unfortunately I cannot do that. Day 1: more than half the advertised activities canceled with no prior warning + no hot water in our room and maintenance only arriving at 11:30 at night (when we had a game drive at 4:30 then next morning). Day 2: no heated pool, as promised on day 1, as it is has a broken pump + again no hot water in the room. Rude and inappropriate maintenance to top it off. I have to say if it was not for the game drives and unbelievable tracker and game-vehicle-driver the trip would have been an absolute disaster. So disappointing for the price we paid.

South Africa Safari trip

What a fantastic experience! The lodge rooms are amazing….everything from food to service to Zeblon and Peace our game drive trackers and guides all amazing!! We saw all but a Leopard! It was great watching the birds in the plunge pool, fireplace at night in the room. Highly recommend!!

Absolutely Awesome

Once again my family and I had the distinct pleasure of staying at this fantastic lodge for a number of nights. The lodge is beautifully appointed and the suites are private, huge, tastefully decorated, air-conditioned, consisting of a private lounge, bedroom, bathroom, own swimming pool, day-bed with a view and many other luxuries. The menu was varied and really great, offering choices (eg vegetarian) and tastefully presented culinary delights. The service was constantly top-notch and our butler, Nomvula, went out of her way to look after us. This is however, a Safari Lodge, and the morning and afternoon game drives certainly became the highlight of our stay. Our guide, Martin, and his tracker, Nhlahla, made our time in the bush an extraordinary experience and we left with a sensory overload of the African Bush. Their passion, knowledge and enthusiasm is unsurpassed and makes Thanda a very special place to visit. We will never forget the privilege we had in experiencing this fantastic Safari Lodge. Thank you very much!

A good experience

The game viewing was exceptional. The service was good. The food was a little disappointing. We were there for my 70th birthday and as all the guests were from SA and the lodge new my birthday I was disappointed they chose to do a fairly mediocre Braai. The other 4 guests all fromSA were also disappointed. However the experience in general was a good one and the staff very helpful. The rooms are exceptional.

Better then you could imagine!

It is beautiful here and the staff is absolutely wonderful! Saw so many animals on the safari drives and the drivers are all so knowledgeable about the area and its animals. Definitely made an experience I will never forget. They offer so much here and do it all so well, it's better than anyone could imagine.
