The 109 wine-themed rooms and suites have been individually themed by a top Portuguese wine producer to give a sense of place. Each one has a terrace or balcony with views over the gardens, Douro River or Porto city skyline. The top-end suites here are unique and incredibly decadent, with features ranging from rotating or barrel-shaped beds to modern log burners, copper hot tubs and a private pool – perfect for a special occasion holiday.

The tasting menu showcases the finest Portuguese flavours paired with wines from across the country – imagine tucking into some of the best food you’ve ever eaten while gazing out at the beautiful Douro River and historic city of Porto between courses. For more relaxed dining, head to family-friendly The Orangerie on the eighth floor, and for a private members’ club vibe, there’s Dick’s Bar & Bistro, which specialises in wines by the glass, cocktails vintage ports.

This two-Michelin starred restaurant is led by Chef Ricardo Costa. The tasting menu serves Portuguese food with a modern twist.

The Orangerie
Open for lunch and dinner, The Orangerie is located on the 8th floor with wonderful views across Porto.

Dick's Bar & Bistro
Named after Dick Yeatman, a well-known character in the Port wine trade, this is the place for light snacks and vintage Port.

Indulge with a treatment at The Yeatman Wine Spa. As well as massages, reflexology and facials, many of the treatments use the anti-oxidant benefits of vines including grape facials to a red wine grape barrel bath overlooking the Douro Valley. There's also an indoor pool, Turkish bath, sauna and fitness centre.

Located in Vila Nova de Gaia, this area is where many of the ancient Port houses have aged their wines and tours of the cellars can be arranged. The hotel also hosts daily wine tastings or you can join a masterclass in Portuguese wines.

Relax between sightseeing at the decanter-shaped outdoor swimming pool with views of the city and Douro River. Located at the spa, the indoor pool also boasts city views.

The hotel’s gardens offer refuge for plants, trees and migratory birds. Energy saving lights are used throughout and 80 solar panels supply hot water. Spa products are paraben-free and chemical-free and naturally purified water is provided in all bedrooms.

The Yeatman Gastronomic Restaurant is not recommended for children under 12.

Minimum stay: 2 nights for stays over 31 Dec.

Executive Room and Suite are located on low floors 1, 2 & 3 of the East Wing and require two lifts to be accessed.
