The hotel and staff are great however there a few things that I feel they can improve on. The choice at the buffet could be looked at especially the desserts as they are limited to a selection of cakes and ice cream for the kids. However we ate twice at the chinese and felt the food and service was great. I also feel that the design of 3 small pools isn't great with fixed umbrellas leaving a poor selection for sitting in the sun rather than the shade, there was more choice by the beach areas but we prefer the pools as not as much mess with the sand everywhere. The service by all staff was great until the last day when we booked out at 9 but wasnt leaving till 4 in the afternoon but was informed that we could still use the facilities around the hotel including food and drinks. This proved quite difficult as every time we either ate or drank we were questioned on whether we were all inclusive and one point was chased out the hotel thinking we hadnt paid. This should be looked at as this was our last impression of the hotel so left us with a negative feeling on the way to the airport. The hotel is also miles from anywhere and although the taxis are cheap there is no where to go for a walk nearby. I would agree the hotel is great but for the cost of staying there I dont feel you get value for money.
The food is good.Lovely staff specially Damien and Sylvano.Great hotel with a nice view. The activities are up to every ages.Thank you Zilwa Team for the amazing vacation...all the best love from Blake Stansfield ❤️
Beautiful hotel with excellent service
Superb hotel with all the amenities and variety of a big place but retaining all the individuality and exclusivity of somewhere much smaller. The grounds are spaciously set out, and all the accomodation blocks are either around the outside of the lush gardens or right on the beach front (which was where we stayed) - cleverly done so none of them really overlook each other. The overall effect is somewhere luxurious and tropical. Plenty of choices of places to eat and drink (and if you can, I highly recommend the al a carte dining at the beach in the evening) with high quality food, ranging from European and world cuisine to local, relaxed buffet to high end silver service. Do remember to book your dining reservations though as the speciality restaurants are small (which means they have a lovely ambiance) and fill up each evening. The staff were courteous, efficient, friendly and thoughtful - couldn't really ask for more! Rooms were spacious and well maintained, and ours was kept spotless throughout our trip - do be aware that the bathrooms are not enclosed from the bedroom though so although separated by blinds you'll be showering in the same room as your friend / partner (toilets are separate though - don't worry!). The hotel's private beaches were lovely and clean and we were always able to bag a lounger somewhere - the water isn't super clear for snorkelling in the bay, but is lovely for swimming in and the hotel runs boat trips if you want to explore more locally. Highly recommended - we already said we'd go back!
1 week of rest after safari in south africa
The hotel is lovely with the most amazing views of the coin mire island, The food was good and varied at the Karay buffet restaurant and we were able to book all of the restaurants during our stay - our favourite was Lor dishab who sang Happy Birthday to me and presented me with a lovely cake which I shared with the other diners as we had already had a desert after our meal. All of the staff are friendly and hard working and a special mention to the bar staff who were very helpful to my husband who has partial sight. Rani in the Karay restaurant was lovely and always came over to say hello and chat. I had a nice masage at the spa by Shivani. We had a barbeque on the little island and it was lovely.I would definitely come back
Wedding and holiday of a lifetime
Well, we’ve just returned home to a grim UK today after our two weeks and wedding at Zilwa. We didn’t think anywhere could beat Bali, but this place did hands down and that in part was down to some amazing people who work tirelessly to make sure you have an amazing time. All the staff were brilliant but there are a few I’ve got to mention for going above and beyond. Elodie and Nasreen from Guest experience. Kevin and “Captain” Johnson who made our wedding catamaran trip one We’ll never forget. Danharry (F&B manager, just an amazing person), Arnaud (friend for life!) Veronique, Ashley, Owen and Avisha? Who can make the best cocktails you can imagine!! Jean Lewell who taught us to scuba dive! Please look out for them and mention us...Thanks to these guys we will be coming back next year!! 🍹😎
