Recommended itinerary

Los Angeles

California’s palm-studded city

Southern California’s most starry city boasts palm trees and Pacific Ocean beaches. Los Angeles offers an adventurous multilayered experience with Tinseltown and Universal Studios vying for your attention alongside Rodeo Drive’s luxury shops, Griffith Park’s exquisite views, ROW DTLA’s stylish bars and hiking trails that will take you to the Hollywood sign.

Hollywood Hills

What to do in Los Angeles

Endless exciting experiences

Glimpse Van Goghs at The Getty, shop like a star on Rodeo Drive and hit the beach in Santa Monica. There are plenty of movie-based attractions – the Chinese Theatre, the Walk of Fame, Universal Studios and the Academy Museum but also iconic viewpoints – Griffith Park Observatory and Mulholland Drive, and active adventures such as hiking Runyon Canyon Park. Cocktails are creatively shaken in Downtown LA’s dimly lit bars whilst fine dining with frills is easy to find in Beverly Hills. We recommend three nights in LA to soak up the beach scene, see the museums and tick off the top attractions.

Iconic hotels and beachside hotspots

Ten minutes from Universal Studios, The Garland Hotel is a gorgeous spot to soak up the sun before seeing the sights. For a taste of SoCal’s salty ocean lifestyle Shutters on the Beach is your chicest beachside retreat. And the icons? The Beverly Hilton is a wonderful choice for glam poolside lounging whilst The Hollywood Roosevelt, opposite the Chinese Theatre, is a hip hotel with a history of movie star guests.

Las Vegas

The fun and flashy desert oasis

In the arid Mojave Desert, Vegas gleams with neon lights, sky-high butler-serviced hotels and sensational attractions. Sin City has a staggering number of award-winning restaurants, casinos and luxury shops alongside a constant stream of dazzling entertainment from fashion shows on The Strip to underwater acrobatics at the Bellagio. Step away from the manmade magic and be bowled over by outdoor attractions too: the Valley of Fire’s Star Wars-like landscapes and Lake Mead’s brilliant, bright blue waters.

What to do in Las Vegas

See every side of the City of Lights

Sip Champagne inside a giant chandelier, see Cirque de Soleil in action and sail by gondola through an imitation Grand Canal of Venice. Enjoy pina coladas by extravagant pools, dine in celebrity chef restaurants and be hypnotised by the Bellagio's dancing fountains. Take a stunning heli-flight over The Grand Canyon, join us on a chopper tour of the city by night or board the High Roller for a bird's eye view of all the drama.

Wow-worthy places to sleep

For a taste of Las Vegas’ bright, bold and big complexes you could choose the Luxor Hotel and Casino or MGM Grand Hotel Casino, both which boast casinos, clubs and permanent shows. It’s hard to beat the Bellagio’s dancing fountains and decadent restaurants but if you prefer something low-key and quiet you should take a look at the swish Vdara Hotel and the casino-free Waldorf Astoria which both offer luxury spas and glamorous pools.
