Fresh from a top-to-toe renovation in 2024, Hotel Jardin Tecina brings an elegant but earthy feel to its gorgeous clifftop spot on La Gomera.
The Hotel Jardin Tecina will be closed from April until December, undergoing renovation works. The resort will reopen with a fresh look in early December 2024.
Set around low-rise bungalows and gardens that give it a village-like appeal, Hotel Jardin Tecina has a beautiful position on La Gomera with incredible sea views. It’s small enough to feel personable but big enough to have excellent facilities, including a spa, a handful of swimming pools, a tennis academy, and mini golf. It takes full advantage of the natural setting, with cave-set private dinners and restaurants that make the most of spectacular views. A clifftop lift takes you down to a beach, where there’s also a saltwater pool.
Why we love Hotel Jardin Tecina
-
The golf course is beautiful, with the Tiede volcano as its backdrop and year-round superb conditions.
-
The vegan menus use 100% organic ingredients from the hotel’s vegetable patches, fruit trees, and greenhouse.
-
The guest rooms feel light and bright without losing their sense of warmth, with smart wooden floors softened with beautiful upholstery and soft furnishings. Ocean-inspired art gives a nod to the surroundings.
-
The buffet restaurant is finished in abundant natural materials—plenty of wood finishes and plants—befitting the menu sourced from the hotel’s finca and featuring plenty of vegetarian and vegan selections.
This resort has earned internationally recognised certification that conform to standards set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.

The 434 rooms are in two-storey buildings and finished in a beautiful and soothing palette of sage green and blonde wood. They all have a balcony or terrace, but you’ll want to upgrade from a Standard Garden View Room to a Comfort Side Sea View Room for partial sea views or a Superior Sea View Room to be greeted with full ocean views. The Pura Vida rooms and suites are adults-only, are in a quieter part of the hotel, and have access to an exclusive pool area with Balinese beds.

They have their own water supply and desalination system, treat wastewater to irrigate their gardens and use both energy-efficient electricity and solar energy. The hotel is home to Eco Finca, 100% organic gardens where papaya, lettuce, cabbage, aubergine, moringa and artichokes are harvested for their restaurants.
This is an excellent hotel for families. Kids will love the water playground with plenty of interactive splash features, drenching buckets, and slides. A kids club, available for children aged four to 14, integrates sustainably minded activities into the programme.
