Taj Fateh Prakash Palace is part of Udaipur’s iconic 16th-century City Palace Complex, which still serves as a royal residence today.
The hotel itself was built by Maharana Fateh Singh as a venue to host royal events. Since 2020, it’s been managed by the Taj Group. The architecture and design are typical of Rajasthan, with arches, high ceilings and over 400 windows that look out over Lake Pichola and the Aravalli Mountain range. Throughout the hotel you’ll find ornate paintings and furniture which have come directly from the royal storerooms and there are many serene courtyards to enjoy. Still within keeping of the property’s original features, the hotel has added a J Wellness Centre and an infinity pool.

Facilities
Guests love English afternoon tea amongst the Mewari interiors at the Suryadarshan Bar. Often rated as one of the best restaurants in India, The Sunset Terrace has floor-to-ceiling windows and two decks where you can relax with a drink and watch the sunset over the lake, it’s the ideal way to end the day.
Overlooking the lake, the J Wellness Centre has many treatments fit for royalty including the Mewār Khās inspired by the pre-wedding rituals of the Royal House of Mewar.
You'll be staying within the City Palace complex which has numerous galleries and museums to visit. Take a cruise on Lake Pichola, particularly special at sunset.
