Days 1-4

Mykonos

Marvellous Mykonos is the island that puts the scene into beach scene. It’s got those cosmopolitan vibes that have gained it international fame, but it also doesn’t shirk on natural beauty and Greek charm. There’s the winding cobbled lanes threading through those typical, white-washed buildings, and iconic windmills that have become an Instagram backdrop hot spot. You can go from traditional Greek taverna, an organic farm and a hillside monastery to a world-class bars and restaurants and a uber-cool beach club party, all in one day. That’s the duality of Mykonos.

Days 5-7

Paros

Perfectly formed Paros may be a bit more low profile than its Cyclades neighbours, but it might just become the favourite spot on your holiday. After a few days of mouth-watering baklava, lazy shady lunches at traditional tavernas and beach hopping, you’ll be singing its praises. It’s gaining ground on Mykonos when it comes to the A-list attention, but it has more of an authentic, low-key feel. You’ll be based near Naousa, an almost impossibly beautiful Cycladic village that spills down to a fishing boat-filled old port and the ruins of a Venetian castle, but be sure to explore Paros’ finest beaches, the churches and monasteries and maybe even take a trip over to neighbouring Antiparos from the capital Parikia.

Days 8-10

Santorini

We wouldn’t say you’ve saved the best for last but it’s without a doubt it’s the most scenically spectacular. It’s cliff top and side-clinging villages of Oia and Fira are legendary; the blue-roofed churches, steep stepped lanes and caldera sunsets are absolute Santorini icons but delve a little deeper and you’ll discover archaeological sites, grey, black or red-sand beaches, and even terraced vineyards. Amid your village meanderings and caldera boat trips, stop to fuel on gyros and tomatokeftedes, and shop for pottery and lava trinkets. Our top tip for your stay on the island is to pick a resort with pool suites that have a front row seat for the sunsets and give you a little haven away from the crowds.
