All inclusive hotels in Halkidiki
All inclusive hits a whole new level in Halkidiki when you stay at Ikos Oceania and Ikos Olivia. Ikos themselves term their all inclusive offering as ‘unconditional luxury’ where a lot is included. Both have incredible dining options, a wine list with a quality rarely seen without extra charges and a sommelier on hand to share their tasting tips. There’s a whole host of things to do across the wellness, fitness, sport, spa and watersports spectrum. Ikos Oceania is slightly more compact and slopes down to the sea which means views are a bit more elevated for maximum impact. They’re 12 miles apart so if you really can’t make up your mind, split your time between the two. At Eagles Villas. the base board type is bed and breakfast, but you can opt for all inclusive here too. Dine at night in any of the six restaurants at Eagles Villas and Eagles Palace.
Family hotels in Halkidiki
Ikos Oceania and Ikos Olivia both tick the box for family holidays. Olivia is more spread out, space-wise and lies flat so if you’re travelling with younger kids, it may suit you better. Rooms vary with one and two-bedroom options for when kids are old enough to want (and you need!) some separate space. Kids right up to 17 years old will have action-packed days if they choose. There’s a creche (charges apply for this), a kids’ club for 4-12s and teens get their own activities with a club leader around all summer long. The villas at Eagles Villas are what makes it good for families. Kids club activities are beyond the old-school norm with nature hunts, mocktail and cooking lessons. It’s a little more low-key, but luxurious and with the added bonus of all the facilities at Eagles Palace on your doorstep.
Sani Resort is one marvellous resort split into five. Sani Club, Sani Beach, Sani Dunes, Sani Aseritas and Porto Sani collectively sit within 1000 acres of forests and wetlands on a 7km stretch of beach with an impressive 10 pools and 40 places to eat and drink. Choose which of these to stay in by the vibe you’re after as a family – Beach is lively, Club is secluded, Dunes is sophisticated, Porto is for family freedom and Asterias is for timeless elegance. Whichever you choose, kids are treated like VIPs activities you can do together include diving, watersports and the Bear Grylls Survival Academy.
Adults-only hotels in Halkidiki
Fun as all that family stuff sounds, we get that if you don’t have kids in tow, you’d rather not have other people’s disturbing your peace or your fun. Domes Resorts add a lot of cultural depth to their hotels so that you get a real sense of the place you’re visiting. Domes Noruz has all that along with a beach club vibe so expect sun-soaked days and vibrant nights – golden hour kicks off with classic cocktails and cool DJ sunset sets. You’re right on the beach, you can explore traditional local towns but really, you’ve licence to switch off, have fun, enjoy yourself.
