When staying in Vancouver, most days are spent exploring and your hotel is a base to return to at the end of the day. What a base L’Hermitage Hotel is. It ’s a boutique retreat with just 60 rooms, a feature that allows personalised service where nothing is too much trouble. There's an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere here with a grand entrance and beautiful lobby area with modern design features. For those time you want to spend a little time relaxing away from the busyness of the city, there's a 15-metre saltwater lap pool and a Jacuzzi which are lined with a few sun loungers. In the mornings, a buffet breakfast is served at L’Orangerie, the hotel's cosy lounge space. Later in the day you can order a cocktail a glass of British Columbia-produced wine. The à la carte L’Hermitage High Tea is also served here with five sittings each day throughout the afternoon. The hotel is just one block from Robson Street, the city’s main shopping destination and there are plenty of restaurants nearby where you can head for dinner.

The rooms and suites are far more spacious than you might expect for a city centre hotel, even the romantically named Petite Boutique Rooms you'll feel as if you have more than enough room; We highly recommend upgrading to a One Bedroom Signature Suite, particularly if you are staying for more than just a couple of days. If you wish to, you could spend at least one evening creating a feast in the suite's own fully-equipped kitchen using the locally-sourced produce bought from Granville Island market – an authentic Vancouver experience.
